Just curious, but how did you all run your cables from the roof through the cab to the box?

I'm assuming most run it through the hatch and under the trim?

Through the hatch? My wire is tight to the roof rack, then dips a u-turn into the rear pax corner and under the plastic post and then the plastic around the rear window and then down the B post under the front pax seat to the interior antenna.

Hatch, lift gate, rear door, what ever you feel like calling it. LOL

Any pictures? I was thinking the drivers side, but I haven't considered the passenger side.

I just got the Victory 4x4 rear bumper installed with two rear swing outs. There are holes in the top of each swing out, so I'll probably try to mount it there first. if that doesn't seem to work, I'll try the roof rack.

Hello, have you had any water ingress after this type of installation? I see in your pictures that the cable rests on top / in between the rubber gasket and the rear hatch gate, which I assume does not allow the rubber/gate to have a perfect seal while closed.

Also I assume you connected the weboost to the rear power outlet socket, is that correct? Any issues so far?

No water leakage to date. Not plugged into rear power socket but wired to the starter. It shuts off w/ vehicle electronics.

What is the thread size for the ram mount ball to thread?

Ram makes a B size swivel mount with a ball socket on the other end. They also make a ball I can attach to the end of the antenna. This would make it pretty clean and easy to fold down.

How did you attach the spring to the ram mount ball. Both are male….

I did something similar, but found the spring to be the one part that wasn't compatible. I switched to a spring with two female ends:
SS3M2F - Firestik Medium Antenna Spring With Two Female Ends

These are the parts I used:
RAM(R) Square Post Clamp Base for Posts up to 2.5" Wide
RAM(R) Double Socket Arm with Metal Knob
RAM(R) Tough-Ball™ with 3/8"-24 X .375" Threaded Stud

Where did you guys mount the internal antenna?

I'm looking into one of these systems and have heard the placement of the internal antenna has a big impact on how much boost your phone gets.

I have a moon roof, so I was thinking of possibly hiding it inside the head liner by the horizontal brace behind the driver's seat.

I mounted mine to the side (passenger) of the center console and it has been great.

Internal antenna needs to be 18" from the phone so headliner will not work. I stuck mine on the pax side of the center console. No one ever sees it. Black on black.

That was what I was wondering, was placement...

so if phone is in a ram mount, need to be within 18" - will have to ponder this. Don't have the unit yet, just doing research.

The Weboost Drive Reach instructions state that the inside antenna "should be be at least 18 inches but no more than 36 inches from where the cellular device will be used." I have just completed installation but so far have been unable to find a location that eliminates feedback. The device works and does improve reception, but at reduced gain. Currently, I have the internal antenna mounted on the front of the center console box.

Fyi, for anyone reading this in the future and considering the RAM kit for weboost 5g (2nd gen) boosters, you will have a part mismatch.

The reason is weboost no longer includes the female threaded connector relied upon by the ram kit.

Even though it is pictured in their marketing materials and manual!!! Upon receipt of my RAM parts today, I just spent 30 mins searching through my tools looking for it (thinking I lost it) only to realize Weboost jipped me. Its not in the 2nd gen kit. Im a little pissed.

Excellent suggestion by the member above to use the double female spring though.

So if you buy any of the RAM kits like this RAM(R) Tough-Claw™ Heavy Duty Mount for weBoost youll need to swap the spring or alternatively find a short female threaded rod.
