NCLR Shaver Lake 2012 Bald MountainTrail Snow Run - YouTube

We are heading out to Dinky Creek and Shaver Lake Friday and might end up here*. This will be our second good sized off road outing with this rig. I won't have a support team and my mother didn't raise any dummy's. In case there is a problem, we'll just hike.

*Depends on trail conditions and where we end up camping. There shouldn't be any snow but there will be a lot of damp ground. I was up in Kings Canyon two weeks ago at 7300 ft and there was just a little snow.

There was a lot more snow in pockets than I thought. I made it almost up to the pipes (if you know where that is) and found someone in a jeep stuck in four feet of snow. I had high centered twice getting here and figured that was enough.

Several miles were fun though. The 4runner had no problems except for sliding back into ruts where the spare would act like an anchor.

The pics are from the Antman school of pic taking, they don't show how steep or rough the terrain was.
