Weird Electronic Anomaly with Rear Window

Has anyone ever seen anything like this? I am just driving along and I make a hard right turn, and my rear window just rolls all the way down. I am absolutely certain I was no where near the button on the center console and the only other thing I was doing was making a hands free call with my Android phone with the stock (non_JBL) stereo.

Anybody ever see anything like this?

Yes it came back up no problem, and no. It just happened the one and only time a couple of days ago.

The only other weird electronic issue I have experienced has happened a few times since not long after I bought it new. If I hit the horn just right, either a little firmly or sometimes a quick double-tap, the voice prompts will begin as if I had tried to initiate changes to the Bluetooth settings. I can then just hit the voice command button on the steering wheel and tell it "cancel". Of course this will never happen at the dealership service department.

Anyway, just curious if anyone had ever seen anything like this.

This used to happen on my Mercedes. Rolling the window up or down if I hit a bump it would stop or reverse direction. The motor never failed and it did this for the ten years I owned it.

But it never rolled down out of the blue. ainkiller:

i have had weird issues with this as well. When i replaced the rear hatch button i had to remove the whole rear garnish, INCLUDING the electrical connector that connects the part you put your key into outside the vehicle and tells the window to roll down. (if you had a limited you would NOT have said key insertion point on the rear garnish, you would have two buttons, so limiteds need not apply). If one does not put this connector back on properly or it moves around due to bumpiness or something i could see it doing this.

If one does not snap the electrical connector onto the key roller properly it will start doing funky things (like not working or working when it wants to). Noticed this when i reassembled everything after the rear hatch button replacement and tried to roll the rear window down and it told me to take a hike and that it does what it wants. I took the panel back off ad snapped the connector on there correctly and its subordinate again.

yours does NOT sound like it is due to you messing with it (like mine was), but probably just some movement of the connector back there or loose tolerances on it. If it never happens again, who really cares anyway.

I've had that happen on the driver's side window a couple times. My guess is that theres probably a safety sensor that stops the window if there's an obstruction (like a kid's head in the window), and hitting a bump triggers the sensor.

Never experienced the phantom rear window, however I have had the voice recognition activated after using the horn. Several times actually.

The first time it happened, I just assumed I accidentally hit the voice button while I was mashing the horn. It's since happened a couple more times, and I'm positive I didn't hit the voice button.

Seems to only happen when the driver in question is excessively stupid, requiring a longer blast of the horn.
