Weirdness

As far as I know, there isn't a way to adapt the ABS system so I'm unsure of what the difference is from.

The way the braking system works on your 4Runner is that the Accumulator pump and tank provide the assistance via hydraulic force, the master cylinder squishes the fluid which goes through the ABS solenoid pack mounted directly onto the master cylinder and then back through the out ports on the master cylinder. There really shouldn't be any "take up" like you get on the Hybrids... but it could be possible? Are you guys sure you're not mistaking the "firmer" feel for the ABS/VSC kicking in some?

The only other thing I can think of is some sort of failure in the hydraboost system... but its really unlikely in my opnion.
