Our income taxes are almost half of yours, real estate taxes are lower, not to mention houses cost a heckuva lot less.

...and we have water. :moon:

$80 Something a yr here in TX. No state taxes and we get all of CO's water. And you guys get all the Californian transplants that are tired of high taxes and no water to drive up your property values.

I only know all of that because I used to live in the Springs and my wife's family are "Natives"...lol

(Oh, and they btch non-stop about Texas stealing their water and left coasters driving up the property values..) And I do really love Colorado even though I'm a Texan through and through.

Well here is a one year update, the lovely Denver Motor Vehicle decided to take it easier on me and is only charging me $528.92 this year.
What a rip off. Hopefully this will deter people from moving to Colorado, we are getting too crowded as it is.

Ps- 25k miles in one year and still going strong. My wife and I love the 4Runner!

It`s not registration it`s property tax on purchased car.
I think I paid 700 or so in 2012.

What a rip off. Hopefully this will deter people from moving to Colorado, we are getting too crowded as it is.

And it will go down every year. after 4 years I paid 320 or so.
Ditto on new residents, I wish we can get permit to hunt them down.
Colorado is a disaster now. 20 minutes drive takes an hour now.
yet all of them insist new weed laws has nothing to do with it.

77$ in my county in FL per year

no smog tests
no inspections
no income tax either
you dont even have to go to the DMV once you get your initial license, all online

dont move to FL, we dont need anymore people

$77 for a year, how about initial registration tags?
I used to live in FL for 3 years, never again. still have some properties there. No income tax but property taxes through the roof. That unless you reside in a trailer park.

Mine dropped to $582 on renewal but $25 of that is because I have "special" plates so we seem to be about on par.

Mine just came in the mail.... $287 for a two year registration. Plus the $14 fee for emissions (VEIP) in Maryland. I miss my $36 annual fee from when I lived in PA.

I just paid $187 for two years.

$14.00 for Emissions inspection too unless the appointment date is missed like my wife did and it goes up like $25.00 per missed month or some ridiculous fee like that!

Can't complain compared to number seen here from CO and CA. My sister lives in VA and pays annual property taxes on their cars based on market value plus the inspections for that windshield sticker.

MD has a ton of little taxes here and there including State Gasoline taxes on top of the Federal Gasoline taxes so that must make up for the lower registration fee somewhere. Not to mention high property taxes for the home both State and local County.

I used to joke with my sister that VA cost too much to live in but I think now MD beats them out.

Does explain why lots of people move to PA and WVa borders for better cost-of-living value however the hyper-long commute to DC and Balt area has to put a beating on that value.

I pay $10 per year for my 72 Blazer, $253 for the 15 Highlander, and don't know yet on the T4R but I'm guessing close to the Highlander. No inspection or emission on the Blazer and every other year on the others.
I thought all but the Blazer was pretty bad until seeing this post.

Geesh I must be the lucky one property and vehicle is like $13 a year. No typo. I was flabberghausted too. Also the fact that my VA loan doesnt require pmi on my home loan. That was a big saver. I am pleased with where I am at niw as anything really more than I have now will go over my state deduction for realestate and start to cost me in property tax. I like it that way, as my kids are long since grown and starting their own families that I dont have to rapetake the part of paying for public miseducation. Yet my county and the beautiful clerk does a great job getting crews out on my forest road to do repairs when it washes out. For the pleasure of working with her and her flirtation I mean motivation I woukd happily tack a little on in property taxes.

Hell Colorado and Hawaii where a rapist when it came to vehicles, GVW, Mileage Tax, Road Use Tax, and Propery Tax that maybe I just prepayed for the pleasure I see now.
