Hope I don't have to fight with the insurance company to get a new one.
What is really sad is that "people" claim that it's too big to be fixed. YET, youtube fix windshield crack and you will see companies fix foot long cracks!
BUT the integrity isn't the same! Ok, yeah it isn't 100% but most cracks are on the first layer of glass and will be fine for driving without any issues, this to is a fact... Sad, because I know so many people that can't afford a new windshield and that crack only end up going across the entire windshield, which is worse the fixing a 4-12" crack!
In driving back and forth to work yesterday, it's nearly doubled in length. I have an appt to have it replaced Monday. The glass company I was referred to said it needed replacement instead of repair. I had a small bullseye crack repaired a few years ago, and was not happy with it, so I didn't want to go down that route again.

same thing happened to me in running the defroster caused it to crack on a cold day. I replaced it with non OEM glass. I hope this one lasts a little better and I can run the defroster occasionally
I suffered a 27" crack (measured along the base of the windshield) from trying to defrost wet snow this past winter. About 10 1/2 inches of the length is visible above the black portion of the windshield (runs parallel about 1" above it), so I will wait until another crack appears or the windshield gets chipped enough to warrant replacement.

I have GEICO and they usually cover stuff like this. I know USAA covers it as well. There are companies you can call and they drill the initial strike location then fill it and the crack with this junk and makes it disappear. Good stuff and didn't cost me a dime 
Update: windshield replaced by safelight this morning. Looks great. I jump in to head home this afternoon and when I hit 50 mph, there is a loud wind whistling noise. So I get on the phone to them. The nice lady asks if I can close my window. I reply, oh they are all closed, that's the new whistle that I didn't have this morning. Oh... I see... We'll set up another appointment for you. [emoji3]

I thought maybe this thread was sort of a fluke, but I washed my 2015 TE yesterday and after only 2300 Colorado summer miles this thing has tiny pits all over the place.
I have not even driven it on a dirt road yet.
These windshields definitely have something bad going on. My 3rd gen had 113K on the original windshield and it looked better than mine does now. How can these things chip so easy? I have no idea.

No lie. My dad's Rubicon needed a new windshield in its first couple thousand miles.
Come live out here in AZ. Replacing windshields is an almost yearly fact of life because of the heat. Shrug.
