KC Highlights Installed

Put in some KC highlights under the hood to make up for Toyota not installing any lights to see the engine compartment. Night and day difference, worth the cost.

I am digging this rack from Ecotechne. Low profile and clean look. Very minimal nose on the freeway as well. I was cruising around 90mph for at least 10 miles and the wind noise was very low.

Try a piece of weatherstripping to fill in that gap between the roof and the rack. It'll be even quieter.

Replacement Booths Ball Joints

Replaced upper and lower boots on 100k miles, just preventive measure. Old wasn't torn, but inside wasn't much grease. Wiped old grease and filled with my favorite Red Lucas.

The TRD Pro rack isn’t completely useless! It would be nice if the cross bars were modular though.

Drilled a couple holes in the crossbars, used 1/2” 13 3.5” stainless bolts, some washers and spacers, and locking Hi Lift knobs. Need to get a 1/2” longer bolt to use the Hi Lift knob on the rear, but here is the result for now

I added some Baja Designs LP6 lights behind the grill.

This, plus about 10 good cuts on my hand. Must buy gloves.

Made a cover for the terminal block. Think that turned out well.

Need to run the three power cables tonight then hope it works.

After that, running wires for my compressor and various lights.

Looks awesome. This is one of my outstanding jobs waiting to be finished.

Looks like you blacked out the chrome on your tail lights the same way I did. Looks a lot better I think.

Looks good Mike!! Just curious which mounting bar did you use for the LP6’s. Also did you wire up to a push button switch. That what I did for my Bajadesigns led light bar. I was going this way then decided to do the light bar. Do you think the LP6’s fit good or do you think you should have went with the LP4’s? Thanks.

Looks great! How did you secure them to the hood? Did everything come in a kit or did you find a way to secure yourself?

Installed my LFD Offroad cross bars on the OEM side rails.

Very easy and very nice. Glad I bought them.

Thanks, I'm pleased with the outcome. The kit from KC comes with almost everything. What's missing are the replacement plastic pins I destroyed in the process of removing the hood insulation to route the wiring. Those and the two plastic pins I used to secure the lights, which are longer than the original plastic push pins. Here's what I ordered...
