Its funny we love to go off road but long distance off roading becomes SO tiring. It requires that much more concentration and at lower speeds it feel like there is no end.

Installed my new Cobra 75 radio yesterday but lost photos of power wiring. I put the small box under the seat and connected it to the power wires for the seat.

There are two wires on one side of the underseat connector, a white and a white with black stripe. These are always on and easy to connect to to get always on power. The solid white wire is the positive. After disconnecting the battery ( I was afraid of the seat air bag), I removed the 4 bolts for the seat and just tipped it back to get access.

That looks like West Texas or Mexico, but J Blick will have to confirm.

Have you had a chance to use your radio for trail comms.? How does it sound? Do you run an external speaker? How did you route your antenna coax? I have a Cobra 75 from my last rig and haven't installed it in my TE yet. I'd sure like to wire it up like your did if it works well enough for trail communication. Thanks:thanks:

I was close. I could tell by all the white limestone rocks and desert plants. Around here you get used to seeing mile after mile of white limestone hills.

There is no engine/ignition noise or interference.
Have not been out of the city yet. Quiet, less busy channels appear ok
I'm using the aux output from the small box with a cable to the Aux in on the T4R. Plugged in as needed.
Using a magnetic roof mount antenna for now with cable connected as needed by closing the door on it and leaving the excess cable on the floor. This antenna set up worked well a few weeks ago with my old radio in the Mojave Preserve.

Im about to pull the trigger and this is best price I have got so far:

Discount Tire:

x4 285/70/17 $1,433.49 this includes there coverage warranty, which in my opinion has proven to be well worth it!

Anybody know of any deals out there, inside deals?

I paid $1413.84 in Feb. '13. Same tires, load range etc. Also got a $100.00 Visa gift card for signing up for Discount Tire credit card. 9 months no interest as well.

I got mine at discount tire as well. The only thing that I can say is that I went to several discount tires and they seem to compete against each other for pricing, so in the end I only paid 1100 out the door I think.....but don't quote me. I know it was under 1200....you can quote me on that.

Every time I went into discount tire they would give me a price quote and I guess it saves a history in your profile. So when you go to other stores the The salesman would just try to match or lower the price just for the business.

Sounds like a winner. I use an external speaker. Also use a magnetic roof mount antenna, as I use the CB very seldom. I'm guessing you run the coax out the tailgate door? Seems like a better location to avoid pinching the coax.:driving:

if i'm not mistaken, the 285/70-17 Duratracs are only available in a D-load range...
