I am planning to put ARB rear on as well. Was quoted $2,500 installed (locker, all air lines and arb compressor. Fair price? Thanks!

ARB HF Compressor with plenem, switch and wiring harness $235
Locker with switch, hose install parts $800 ($1000-200 on group buy)
Install $450 (Locker only, I installed compressor and wiring/switches)
Total: $1485
Even without the group buy discount, that would still only be about $1700 total with a little elbow grease on your part, or $1800 for the full install. Heck even with a high priced installer I got quoted it would not have been over $1900 total.

Well, did not do today but we took our 4Runner to Gordons Well and Glamis this past Thanksgiving weekend. How many vehicles can you tow your toy to the dunes and then drive it in the sand?!

Anyone know where to get a new passenger mirror? I'm hoping its not $1k..... :'(
Taking it to the dealer to get it fixed... I guess that takes care of the whistling noise! I need a drink.
No the mirror and window was wet from the rain and I was backing into the garage and was looking right at it to make sure i was lined up... and bent it forwards.... I really hope this doesn't cost that much to replace!

Nice smashed mirror. Did you come a little too close to a motorcyclist or cyclist and he/she wanted to teach you a lesson. I have put my foot and caved in many car doors and/or smashed their lights when I catch up to them at a light.
I used to ride motorcyclist. I hate it when drivers shows no respect to other users on the road who are less protected.
I'm also a competitive road cyclist and mountain bike racer. Your comment about one less biker on the road really peeves me. I hope people like you get what is coming to you.
Motorcyclist and cyclist have every right to be on the road just as much as you do in a big gasoline powered steel box. The fact that you have such a low opinion of other human lives who you think are there to annoy you is disgusting. I would wish that you keep such negative comments to yourself, so that you don't spread you pathetic opinion to others in this world.
Would you think differently if you knew the motorcyclist or cyclist that you think so lowly of? What if you had hit and insured he/she and though...hrmph... that is good, one less annoying object on the road and it turned it to be a relative, or a co-worker?

I usually let frustrating statements like this slide by, but not this time.
I'm a cyclist. I ride because it keeps me healthy. I ride because it helps to reduce stress. I ride because it makes me happy.
I (and the people I ride with) know that, by law, we are considered vehicles while on the road. That means that we need to abide by the same laws as other vehicles. We stop at stop signs and stoplights. We signal our turns. We pull over to let faster traffic pass. And for the most part, people are great and appreciate when they see us out and about and treating them with respect.
But I've had to deal with people with ignorant attitudes as well, and it's infuriating.
While fully obeying the law and riding within the proper lane (whether it be a dedicated bike lane, the right lane of a multi lane road, or on the shoulder of the road [on the right side of the solid white line]), I've had people have all kinds of "fun" with me. Some people have thrown beer bottles at my wheels. Others flick their cigarette butts or empty their ash trays as they speed by. Still others try to see how close they can have their passenger mirror get to my helmet.
On one of these occasions (ONE of the times when a driver buzzed my helmet with his passenger mirror), I caught up with the driver at a stoplight. When I confronted him, he said, "Relax... I was just having a little fun."
It sure didn't seem like fun to me.
If you don't like cyclists or motorcyclists, that's your right. I respect your opinion. But keep comments like this to yourself so that you don't further the notion that it's okay to act this way and have "one less biker on the road."
Rant off. Flame away if you feel the need. It won't hurt my feelings a bit. I'm going to go get my frustrations out of my system by taking a ride!
