What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Ya know, I really really like my 4Runner. I've got well over 80k with no real issues. That said...

Recently I transferred to a new job that has an hour commute each way so I have been using (yeah right) the cruise control daily for the first time.

The dude that programmed the cruise control can blow me, that's how bad it is.

That's all I have to say about that.:barf:

I'm at the tire shop getting tires installed. The tech just informed me that 285's aren't going to fit. I had to convince him that I plan to move the inner fenders forward once I get home.

People are shocked that I get decent gas mileage on my 4R, it's because even half awake I'm smarter on the pedal than cruise control.

haha yeah the cruise logic is pretty bad. I use it every now and then but not very often as I can't deal with the constant shifting.

Cruise control works great for long flat sections, but I have learned to just click it off when there is any terrain that would cause a change in speed or throttle position. To be fair, in all of my GM work trucks I have had, they have never excelled in speed moderation on cruise. But that's not saying much. I like driving those hilly things anyhow, so it's a win win.

Bingo. I got much better mileage coming back from California just going based on keeping the speedo nice and relaxed, vs using CC.

Connected my landscaping trailer to the rig last night, no lights working except the brake lights and turn signals. Tested and tested only to come to the point were rewiring the trailer was the best option because there were to many possible issues to have it ready for today by 12. So, 5 hours and $30 later for new lights and wiring kit and NADA, same damn thing. I realized I was to close to the issue and needed to step away and circle back to it today. Ok, so I had to many shots of fireball trying to calm my nerves down and realized I was hammered :lol:. Woke up this morning and recalled a similar issue with my boat trailer this spring, searched the site only to see MY own post with the solution.....this stupid 30A fuse! Damn Fireball!......Good news is that my Spidertrax came in the mail today and I hope to get those on by the end of the weekend once I get home.

All kidding aside it's getting the air compressor, bigger battery, rear bumper lights, differential breather, and backup camera relocated.

Also ordered the RCI TRD Pro filler plate for some added protection. Word is the Bushwacker fender flares are released into the wild today. So I'll install those too.

How are you relocating the camera? Custom wiring extension or separate new camera all together ?

I feel your pain, something similar to this plays out every single time I start a mod. I'm not sure why mods are always so easy to finish on day two and so impossible on day one.

Tires really transform the truck. My KO is not aggressive enough and BF seems to run smaller/narrower. =/
