I tore down my Icon rear trailing arms after 5k miles for inspection and grease. Hex collar was frozen due to the threads being seized up with dirt. Blew out and washed the sleeve, sprayed some lubricant, it loosened up but wouldn’t spin freely. I tried loosening the screws that fasten the skid plate on the opposite side and it came free. Seems that the skid plate screws were too long and were pressing against the threads and inhibiting movement/adjustability (note the two fang marks from the screws). Put it all back together and everything seems ok…until they get dirty again. Seems like a poor design to me, with the pinch bolts and the space that is left for dirt to foul the threads on the outer sleeve. Icon is sending me shorter screws.

I did the front inner fender mod. It wasn't nearly as easy as I expected for some reason. It's done though. I also removed the front mud flaps.

Nice. I love this Trail. I wish they still made it with this front end, rack and fenders. My 2015 TE doesn't look as good as this.

The +'14s are starting to grow on me, particularly the front & rear lights...still don't like the foglight area, but that can be solved with a new bumper!:tongue1:

Those TRD wheels looks really good on your trail edition. I have the same truck but in magnetic gray and I just got the TRD pro wheels for it. Can't wait to put them on.

Went to the dealer and got my passenger front floor mat replaced. It wasnt the correct one. It was for the hook type and I needed twist type. 30 minutes there. Went trick or treating. Not today, but yesterday, took off the awful pin striping the dealer put on there. Poor Job, not even the same height on both sides.

I think they do a good job a sprucing a truck with a somewhat "bland" color.:hat:
The bling ring on the fake beadlocks can get scratched, but at least it's a replaceable part.

We bought a second one, a 2016 Limited 4wd in Nautical Blue with Redwood leather. The old lady wanted her own after confiscating mine for the summer and I wasn't willing to give mine up. I really wanted a TRD Pro and then let her keep the SR5 Premium but she insisted on a Limited and she deserves it so she got her model and color of choice. We plan to use hers for highway travel and going to dinner, church, etc. and the SR5 Premium for the ranch, doggie mobile, and the transport for all of my outdoor activities.

I found it kind of funny that we ended up with two 4Runners but we considered about 10 other vehicles and always came back to another 4Runner. I guess we are living proof of the philosophy "Two is one, and one is none." I've gotta admit that it's nice to drive a non-lifted vehicle for the first time in years, so much more comfortable and predictable in its handling manners.
