Can't change a flat but you can still use it without bumpers and sliders..

Replaced my lower links today. The subject items seem very heavy duty; bought them on the forum. (Thanks Nuclear N8!) Took longer to untangle / figure out the ratchet strap than to do the job. Noticed that my stock fuel tank skid had some more than minor crunch happen at one point or another. Damn spotter!!! :naughty:

Punched a hole in my front passenger rim (2014 Trail OE 17" rim). Tire is just fine but the rim took the hit on the inside?! I was driving on a gravel road and came up on a grader and waited for a car coming. When it passed really close coming at me I moved to the right and sank. Was able to get out just fine with a little bit of effort but after I passed the grader, I noticed the flat. I guess the gravel did it. This is my first post but could not find to much on the forum with this type of damage. Is it more common than I know? Need to buy a new rim now and the options are vast considering a replacement OE is close to 400.00 but a whole new set can run 800.00 for the TRDs. Any suggestions?

GF and I bought our '11 SR5 in July and I've been struggling with how/where to mount the antenna and Kenwood ham radio. The interior is tight so clean mounting options were limited... and we use a cargo carrier on the roof that prevents a thru-roof NMO mount... so this is what I came up with.
I used a trunk lip NMO mount on the left rear corner of the hood... and cut out the back of the lower pocket in the dash to mount the radio.
There was a duct in the way that feeds the rear console vents... so I notched it out for the radio to fit deeper into the dash.
The radio fits in there perfectly and has it's own forced air cooling. (open AC duct blowing on heatsink)
I realize it's a less than ideal place to put the antenna... but I really had no other choice. It was either there, or no antenna.

This morning I finally finished my LED conversion by doing the puddle lights. Actually easier than I expected, although I had already taken the mirror apart about 7 times by this point trying to figure out how to replace the busted one. Looking forward to going to work tomorrow morning so I can see just how big of a difference there is.
I also set out in search of the little plastic yellow clip I needed to hold the fender trim piece in place. The hour away dealership I had working on it originally didn't have any, and I didn't order enough of them when I ordered parts online. No bid deal it's about $2.75 online. I was going to order it online, but every site wanted $11+ S/H! So I called a my two local dealers, luckily the closest of them had 23 of them in stock. I drove 20 minutes over there, bought the part, did the 30 second install in the parking lot, and drove 20 minutes back home.
I did get to see one of the new '16 TRD Off-Road Taco's though, pretty sharp looking. I nearly laughed at one of the salesmen who asked if I was considering trading in my 4Runner TRD Pro for the Taco. I had to explain at 41kmi my 4Runner was barely broken in, and TRD's don't come in Silver!

Had a custom mount made by [MENTION=125603]bandi[/MENTION]. In order to instal expedition one windshield washer reservoir the air pump needs to be relocated in the empty spot at the passenger fender unfortunately that's where my ARB twin compressor was. In order to properly relocate everything [MENTION=125603]bandi[/MENTION] made a custom mount for the ARB compressor that allows for the air pump to be under it. I'm very pleased with the results [MENTION=125603]bandi[/MENTION]'s work is truly top notch.
Also I should mention that expedition one air pump relocation kit sux and you're better of piecing the hoses and connectors yourself.

It can be used as a come along too when you don't have a winch or as a tire raising device to put material under a stuck wheel.

Are these flares the 10-13 Trail flares? How much did those run you? Can you post the part numbers you used please?

Took the calipers off to do the front brakes and forgot to unbolt the bracket held on by the 12mm bolt that secures the rigid line to the spindle... came back to a puddle of brake fluid on the floor, thought I broke it or damaged the hard line where it goes into the caliper. Went down to Toyota and ordered another should be here in a couple of days. After I got home I cleaned the mess up and put a wrench on the fitting and it turns out it was loose! Snugged it up and it doesn't seem like it is leaking anymore. Will still probably replace it just in case, didn't feel like bending and flaring my own either.

We took her to the snow today to find a place to let the dogs run around! Ended up at the Signal Peak Trailhead off of I-80. Did a little bit of snow wheeling and tried to climb a bank I should have known better than to try. Ripped off the rear mud flap, but not badly enough to not get it back on. Overall a great day, and another day I am thankful to have a 4Runner in the driveway. This is where she belongs...
