New Owner Road Trip GA-FL

I've been stalking for some time, so I am proud to post my new(as of March 26th) magnetic grey 2016 SR5 4x4 with the tan interior. Got new BFG all-terrains slapped on this past Friday and then went for my first road trip. I drove it from Atlanta to Pensacola with my lady and dog. We love this new addition to our family. This picture was at Fort Pickens National Sea shore.

Now that it is there I think to myself, why the hell did it just not come that way from the factory?

Speaking of expensive plastic, I seriously considered drilling a 2" hole in the bumper cover for the noco charger plug... glad I didn't :biggrin1:

Mojave Preserve, CA

Spent a few days in the Mojave desert exploring the Mojave Road and surrounding area with my kids. Camped in Caruther's Canyon, found a great level place surrounded by trees and with campfire ring. 60 miles of dirt road away from civilization, perfect for peace and quiet. For anyone considering a CBI bumper, get the folding table, it is great for camping!

Took my family to Pismo Beach and drove up Highway 1/Pacific Coast Highway on the way back up to the Bay Area. Unfortunately I did not bring my bikes or hit the dunes since it was a last minute trip.

Where were those taken!!!? I got a trip up to the bay on Thursday, was thinking making it a 8 hour+ drive and going the long way around, either PCH or up and around on the 138, preferably the 1 though lol.

Joshua Tree National Park

I spent the weekend in Joshua Tree National Park. Camped with some folks I met while looking for the last of the remaining campsites at Cottonwood Springs. The park is in full bloom with wildflowers so lots of people came in for the weekend.
I hiked 4 miles into Lost Palms Oasis and wanted to find Munsen Canyon but did not get that far. Carrying a backpack full of overnight gear I found 3 small springs of water, which is rare. But I did not find Munsen Canyon so I retreated to my comfy campsite with a warm sun shower waiting.
On Sunday I drove out Pinkham Canyon Road and Thermal Canyon Road to the south edge of the park and then back up to Chiriaco Summit and another trail leading back up into Munsen Canyon. I'll try that route next time I go.
Here's Pinkham Canyon Road where I found Palo Verde and Smoke trees along with the blooming Yucca plants and lots of wildflowers. More photos in an album I created today.

Carp Trail - Off-road Adventure

Took the 4Runner for a drive with the new tires. Pretty desolate road from I-15 to Caliente.

Oh, and the tires clear very well. This was after 52 miles of dirt/grave road. The other 3 were clear

I purchased window vents thingys from Amazon. They were marked down from $103 to $30. I took them out of the package, lined them up, and went inside to eat, and realized I was too tired to deal with it and went to bed. I might do them today.

Went on a gravel grinder with a couple friends. If you ride bikes, then you can appreciate the stats of this ride out in sunflower... We climb 3000ft in 14 miles & then another 700 or so on the way back (total 28 miles)

I raced home and sized up the new Westin Nerf bars I knew had to be waiting for me! No more riding the rails like Tony Hawk. The horn came too-bonus! My husband is making me wait until Saturday before he puts them on....two can play that game.
