What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Where were those taken!!!? I got a trip up to the bay on Thursday, was thinking making it a 8 hour+ drive and going the long way around, either PCH or up and around on the 138, preferably the 1 though lol.

The first pic was at Pismo Beach. It's only $5 for the entire day. If you plan on driving on the dunes me sure you bring a flag and some recovery equipment. Most people are pretty nice about helping out if you get stuck. The second pic was at Bixby Bridge. If you're heading north on 1 it will be the first turn off on the right side. It's an access road that shouldn't be to difficult to see as most people are parked there but don't want to drive any further down he road.

I upgraded the dash speakers to the Infinity Reference 3002cfx 3.5" and added bass blockers. I used several of the "dash speaker" threads on here for reference. From those, I learned to use the blue factory connector sans capacitor so I did not have to cut the harness. Also used bits of the mounting bracket to fit the new speakers, insulated the magnet from the sheet metal, etc.

Anyway, the difference in sound is amazing! Very easy mod and well worth more than the $55 the speakers cost. :dancin:

Hope you've given due consideration to the tank skid. I pivoted my whole truck on the stock skid once. Bent it in enough that it was rubbing the gas tank itself. I'm much happier with mine guarded, with steel no less!

I plan on skipping it for now and doing sliders next. This is a camping/expo rig rather than a rock crawler.

I plan on skipping it for now and doing sliders next. This is a camping/expo rig rather than a rock crawler.

That's why I said, 'due consideration'. It's definitely worth considering a it's a high center spot, but these rigs are purpose built.
Definitely recommend the sliders. I didn't expect mine to be used as much as they are, and I have the sleeksters that are mounted so high you could actually put a set of frame mounted ones on under them.

Among a few other small mods I have yet to post about on here, I installed my new Prinsu Designs full length roof rack in Sunday. Awesome rack! Light and strong, virtually no added wind noise.

Now I am designing and fabbing some brackets to mount my light bar. Stay tuned on my build thread for a bunch of updates over the next few weeks.

installed engine, tranny & t-case skids last night.
Tonight i will do the gas tank skid and my Schrockworks kit will be completely installed.

Did the Party Mode EQ mod to the stereo and jumped the rear hatch speakers. Now running 6 speakers with PM EQ all the time and full power to the rear passenger door speakers. That combined with the new Infinity front speakers I put in yesterday has made it sound REALLY great. The difference is huge! :thumb:

Now I'm getting ready to drive it to St. Louis this afternoon.

Any photos or write up of this? This seems like it would be really easy to do, but I don't think there's a post that clearly lays it out from start to finish.

Installed Baja Rack and camping trip to Joshua Tree NP

Bought a Baja Rack off another T4R member last week, then installed it right before I left for a camping trip this past weekend. Also made a mount for my Maxtraxx out of Uni-strut and a carriage bolt.

Went out to Joshua Tree NP for a fun weekend of drinking, hiking, and offroading.
