Can you post a link to your thread? I have some carbon fiber vinyl I was thinking about using for the same thing but wasn't sure how it would look. Not a fan of the silver at all though.

Finally picked it up from the dealer. They finished their part and we were waiting for the Gobi to arrive, which could be practically forever..

Ya maybe a little high, especially if you're on tight trails but I wouldn't worry too much. Bigger thing would be if sunlight crept through between the roof and awning. I dig the full size awning, I've got the same one and love the coverage it affords.

Upgraded my battery to a Group 27 X2 F (Northstar from Batteries +) and new battery tray from Bass Pro which all fit great with a little modification. Then I added solar (120W kit with solar controller adds 7.2A in full sun) to recharge it to keep my ARB Frig and the contents cool on days in camp. Getting ready to enjoy the summer in the mountains.

I installed a Toytec lift this weekend with JBA Upper control arms. 2.5sh in the front 2" in the rear. I might adjust the front a little after driving it around a for couple of days. Then get the alignment done. Next up TE wheeels with Ridge Grapplers. My trailers running FJ steelies with 255/75/17 BFG MTs.

Seriously though, that would be about the perfect height for a foxwing with your gate open.
I think a cool mount design would let you lay it back flat against the rack and roll the assembly forward and upright when in use. So when it is in stow position it is lower, resting flat on the rack, inset more, and further from the edge of the truck, making it less likely to get caught only branches or other near high obstacles.

Well I'm only 5'6" haha and I can take out. I'm thinking of flipping the L brackets upside down maybe that would keep it lower to the vehicle.

I recently bought a 17 TRD Off-Road Premium Superwhite 4Runner and I would like to make the front of mine like exactly like yours with the black front bumper and upper valence.
I see that you're located really close to me, I'm in Huntington Beach, Ca. I have no experience with automotive work so can you recommend a shop that could blacken the front of my 4runner to look like yours. I am planning to make my 4runner look exactly like a TRD Pro; I wanted a moonroof so the Pro was not an option.
How long did it take you to blacken out the front of your car? If I were to provide you with some cases of your favorite beer, could I tempt you to do the same to my 4Runner?
