What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

When I woke up I had big plans for a lot of changes to my 4R, but didn't get as much done as I hoped. The original grill and garnish was removed and replace with the TRD Pro version. I pulled the silver valance off the bumper, so I could wrap it with matte black vinyl. Unfortunately my first attempt at wrapping the panel went horribly wrong. My teen-aged son assured my he knew how to apply vinyl...he doesn't. :Cry: We ruined the one sheet of vinyl I had that was big enough, so now I need to order more.

Why not just paint It black ?

Stay safe and you could wrap a mattress on the camry to help protect it from debris. I use a egg crate mat to protect from hail here at home. So a big mattress should help with some wind debris . But seriously stay safe.

Thanks, all good so far. Still have power, storm surge is the main problem with these things and I'm not worried about that. We will get some serious wind but I have a lot of thick brush around my house that provides a good wind break. Been through a couple of these and it's the weeks of no power that sucks the most. The fridge in my truck is starting to make more sense to those that scoffed at it initially, and I was blessed with the last camping stove at Walmart and 12 small propane bottles from lowes. All the little green tanks were cleaned out but right next to them was a full rack of the blue tanks used for torches. Same fitting same gas.

If/when I get a compressor, I think I am going to put the switch right next to the compressor instead of running a wire inside the cab. You have access the compressor to hook up the hose anyway so the switch will be right there after connecting the hose. Just makes more sense to me and way less work. :noidea:

I mounted my compressor with a remote air hook-up. I don't even open the hood when using it, just hit the switch, open door, hook up air line and go from there!

Just returned from a 8 day trip to Sedona, Canyonlands, and North Rim Grand Canyon.
Awesome trip. Rig performed flawlessly for over 2000 miles through 112 degree heat in Moab are to crazy rain at Grand Canyon.

I considered installing a toggle switch near it as well, but on the off chance I decide to do air lockers up front, I'll want the switch to be in the cabin so installing it there now is a bit of future-proofing.

Other than being a nightmare and trimming CVT bolts, no. It works just really really sucks to mount due to low profile - I'll be leaving the two rails mounted to RTT permanently.

I wanted the avoid paint some since this piece might be subject to a lot of wear. As for my grill, I found it on eBay.

Swapped out the OEM lift supports for the back hatch with upgraded ones from www.liftsupportsdepot.com to compensated for the extra weight from the Baja ladders. Door doesn't need any help now to open

Off-Grid Engineering Dual Battery System

Finished installing and wiring my Off-Grid Engineering dual battery system. Went with 2x Northstar Group 35 AGM. It uses a Blue Sea ML-ACR to control the two batteries. Then bought a Powertrays bracket to mount a Blue Sea ST Blade fuse block. Ran 10ga wire to the back to a Blue Sea Below Deck panel which has a 12v cigarette port and 2 usb ports. I ran the wire through the driver side fire wall then under the kick panel trim to the rear where I then ran it across the carpet area behind rear seats. Then snuck it underneath the passenger rear wheel well area to the Below Deck panel. Cut out a template for the Below Deck panel and mounted it right underneath the factory outlets. Powers up the Indel B 41L fridge perfectly :rockon:

Put your center caps back on and get some black lugs, will look much better. A nice set of AT tires will make a huge difference also.

What part number did you go with? I need to do the same, my tailgate on my 16 wont stay open with the added weight. With the glass down, it just closes, with the glass up, it closes slower but still closes lol. I assume you got the PM3489 but want to be sure.

This was actually last Thursday and Friday, but installed a solar panel and final permanently mounted my ARB fridge that I purchased (I think) back in February.

Tested it out on a one night camping trip at Barnwell Mountain Recreation Area in Gilmer Saturday night and today.
