Messing around with this crap, ran into clearance issues with the fuel filler where I was going to mount the bar initially, so working on a makeshift. I’ll post a full install once I get placement and lengths finalized.

After a recent outing where I was the only rig out of four that had a compressor, I decided to upgrade from one Viair 444c compressor to two. It is a tight fit but they are in there. I can now take a 275/70/17 from 18 to 38psi in 1:15.

Well, not exactly “today”, but over the last few days since I purchased my new 2018 TRD ORP, I’ve installed Bilstein 5100s all around - 2.5” setting on the front and 1.5” rear spacer, 285/70r17 Nitto Terra Grappler G2’s, fender mod for tire clearance, TRD Pro grill and black bumper valences, Gobi Stealth Rack, and OCD console organizer. Been a busy few days!

Snorkel install day!

Pretty straight forward, thanks to all insight from previous posts. Getting fender liner peeled back far enough is definitely the biggest pain....got most clips off ok from inside but drilled out 4 of them. Rest was smooth sailing....

Stock suspension- nose dive sucks

Bilstein 6112- if you use after market top hats, use the after market washers and bushings. I used the Bilstein ones and they were not compatible. they deformed and developed a gap between the stem nut and the top washer... FML.

really liked them. would have been better if they went to 3" and were adjustable with a spanner wrench.

Bilstein 5100's with stock coils- 6112s were back ordered and I needed to swap out the 6112's. I was also between jobs so couldn't afford icons at the time.

Still better than stock, just a bit of nose dive.

Front end if a little harsh, especially over something like a speed bump, very firm. Honestly same goes for the back with the 5100 shocks, very hard shock over a speed bump.

I have a Wife who is known as ''Maria Andretti'' around this area because She seems to think the 4Runner qualifies as a Road Racer as well as Off-Roader! So, I had to throw a set of pads at the fronts at 25K. I used the Akebono ultra and they made a big change in the ''feel'' of the modulation....more progressive and easy to predict. $53 on Amazon. These are the OEM maker but a better grade of pad.

pretty sure all the suspension options I've tried use 600 coils. That said the 6112s are stiff and may be considered harsh, but I really liked them. the Icons on the other hand are similar, but over bumps and pot holes they stay firm with out the "jolt" of hitting a pothole at the peak of impact.

The performance icons vs 6112s seem comparable right now, but I've only done a 1 mile test drive. Still need to hit the highway and then hit the dirt to get a better feel for how the Icons preform, however so far, I'm pleased.

Had an awesome weekend mountain biking in Bend this weekend.

Was playing around on some obstacles and didn't have enough momentum so when I went to bail and hop off I couldn't find my pedal. Well my pedal found my shin as I landed and got a nice gash. This was when we got back to the hotel and cleaned it up a bit. No pain, no gain right?
