Out in E. Washington and got caught in a rainstorm in the desert. Tried getting out the trail before the clouds got to us. Made the last 2 hours extra interesting. When fine, soft dirt meets water = extra slick, clay-like mud.

Ran lower Bronco canyon with a small group yesterday. It got pretty gnarly but everyone made it through with no major damage. Definitely some of the biggest and toughest rock gardens I've taken my 4runner through.

Put the net back in and added more bracing to the platform to eliminate flexing. It got painted black before installing figured it’s easier to show what I added in raw wood. There’s a long center support but those corners had a nasty flex.

Ran out of time to swap the the trans crossmember. Might do it tomorrow or save it for next weekend.

Did you use bass blockers? They will pop at louder volumes without some filtering. The speakers do make a huge difference though.

Sure was! (plus windy). On Saturday, Mojave was around 90s and dropped to 60s when were drove back to LA on Sunday. Crazy weather

Installed a RAM mount in the dash. Super solid way to hold your phone for sure. It’s a 1/4” hole in a very inconspicuous spot if I ever remove it I have a couple easy ways to fill the hole.

A little over 4000 miles and for the first time last Friday, I drove it at night. The headlights were as bad as I remembered from my old Trail. So I did the H9 conversion using Hella 2.0 bulbs. Headlight on the left is the H11 and the right is the H9. Definitely a bigger spot. The brighter and whiter light now competes with the LED fogs. Also, I was pleasantly surprised how much easier it is to access the bulbs with the projector housing vs. the old reflector housing.

Can not put windows up from any door except the D/S. I tried the T-Shooting in Manual per pg 148 from 4RUNNER (U) OM3584BU) see what happens. No luck. When holding the button down after it's open for 4 or more sec I hear a relay clicking in the door. :frusty::shrug:

I've heard that the Rhino rack causes lots of wind noise. Any feedback/thoughts?

So far I haven't noticed much noise. I did add the wind fairing, and I do hear a good amount of wind noise coming from that with my sunroof open, but I can't hear it with the sunroof closed.

The wind fairing is a little weird, and I can't say I like their design. It mounts underneath and thus pushes the wind into the front of the rack, not exactly over it.

I may try it without the wind fairing to see if there is really a difference. From what I have read, it doesn't seem to make enough of a difference, if any difference at all. I do like the look of it, though.

I do think the Rhino Rack would have less wind noise due to the rails running front to back, and not side to side, with the exception of a few cross bars. Most roof racks have mainly side to side rails, instead.
