We reserved, but it looks like you can try your luck, show up and wait for one of the first come, first serve sites. We got super lucky because we were able to reserve a campground 2 days before arriving. I think someone cancelled theirs.
They are pay sites and it came out to $78 for two days (expensive IMO, but it’s a beautiful place). It gets pretty windy towards the afternoon, so bring some warm clothes. A fire pit and picnic table are provided. There are chemical toilets available and surprisingly clean.
I believe showers were available, but they were closed. I had to improvise for the wife since I didn’t want to buy a Waterport. I used a weed sprayer and a privacy tent to create a makeshift shower for her. She loved it.
Sorry for the long winded response. It’s a great place and we want to head back next year.
