What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Looks good Mike!! Just curious which mounting bar did you use for the LP6’s. Also did you wire up to a push button switch. That what I did for my Bajadesigns led light bar. I was going this way then decided to do the light bar. Do you think the LP6’s fit good or do you think you should have went with the LP4’s? Thanks.

Thanks! I used the N-Fab LBM bumper mount. For some reason it didn't inside the grill properly so I used the side brackets as the base mount for the flat mount. I some how still got it to work?

My push button switch is from on board switch. You should be able to wire it up just like it did. They fit perfectly for the blank switch spot. I have a picture posted on the one post. I have the same mount. Still did not sell it yet. Yeah I did not like the look with the BD switch so I put the push button in. Hope this helps.

Looks like you blacked out the chrome on your tail lights the same way I did. Looks a lot better I think.

Cut out 60% of the ARB harness first. Even then it was a hassle. They really need to modularize that thing a bit more.

Finally installed the ARB rear diff breather kit after it sat on a shelf for a few months.

I really think ARB should switch to using fuel line or something similar as the plastic tubing they provide is a PITA to uncoil and run without kinking.

Decided to run the breather nozzle right up next to the airbox in the engine bay.

built a bed platform. Front 1' flips up to allow for storage behind the front seats, or if I need to move the front seats back.

also installed a 2.5" Daystar front spacer lift and 275/70/17 General Grabber ATX's. I had previously done a BMC, fender liner relocate, and fender delete to fit the SCS -38 wheels. had to trim the front plastics a bit more after the lift.

going to get it aligned today. it's pretty close to level right now, but I have a feeling I will end up putting in .5 or 1" rear spacers, as I prefer a slight front rake.

...It has been many months since I posted anything new...:noidea:

...So what I did today was post a new video of the year 2020...:ranger:

...OK...as a HELLUVA lot went down last year!..:yield:

...I posted a video of what I did and where I went with my 4Runner...:clap2:


...As many long-time readers may know...I do not rock-crawl...

...I do not overland...I do not take cross-country road-trips...

...I am a Nature-Photographer living in SW Montana....:cowboy:

...So, I use my 4Runner to take me out and get me back from cool places where I can setup and take photos, video, and time-lapses...:director:

...I have outfitted the inside with a large bolted-down lockable box for my gear, and a sleeping platform...recovery-gear, etc...and drive off on ranch roads and national-forest roads...and any other dirt roads that take me to scenic places...


...I have a brother who lives in Mesa, AZ..who is also a Nature-Photographer...and we share videos back-n-forth of our adventures...

...SOooo..altho there will be no actual footage of my beloved 4Runner in the following video....it helped me produce this piece...and I could NOT have been able to do it without my 4Runner!...:thumb3:

things I've done recently

i am testing morimotos new LED on my 4runner...its ok not impressed coming off HIDs there's a big rectangle of light in front of the truck and o peripheral lighting..the morimoto fog lights filled that in...HIDs had a wide swath of light in front of the truck LED does not. going back to HID.

added the bajarack rear ladder
it was a pain in the ass to install use a rather strap toward the inside of the ladder to bring it down. its now tight and not going anywhere

1) Cut some plexiglass to fit. Had some of this lying around from something else.

2) 10/32 stainless bolts. Can't remember what length - I have a lot lying around.

3) Aluminum Standoff 3/8 OD x 10-32 Thread from aluminumspacers.com ... I bought 7/16 since that got it about the same height as the black plastic.

4) Stainless knurled head nut.

Besides giving a bit of protection from the weather, I think it finishes it off well and looks like it fits in with the fuse block and bus bar covers.
