Pumped some grease into the front driveshaft. Pre t-case. Can't figure out the rear driveshaft post t-case. The zerks can't be reached with the coupler!

Cleaned up my donor arms a bit, going to a buddy's shop tomorrow to press out the two bushings that were being stubborn using the bottle jack method. Nylon cup wire wheel and some foaming degreaser were absolutely perfect for this job. Took care of all that grime way quicker than just trying to polish with shop rags alone would have done >< Debating now on wire wheeling and painting them which will take me a bit. Never really rattle canned anything in my life so this is probably a great project to learn on, especially considering my truck isn't on stands waiting for them. Did a little research yesterday and I think I got the right stuff? The rust reformer is basically a primer right? Do I need to use mineral spirits before to get a good surface to put this stuff on?

I use a needle attachment to get to the hard to reach zerks

I also think I've heard there's a way to get at them if you get that zerk fitting at just the right angle. I haven't tried yet, only hit my grease points once so far since I got my truck 5 months ago. There's also popping the shaft off your tcase or diff, that would definitely work and it would allow you to inspect your ujoints very closely.

I've got the needle attachment but it's the tight space I'm unable to get the coupler into. I may have to remove the slip yoke in the near future.

Yes, this would be the ideal situation, but I don't think I'd be able to get away with that in the parking lot of my apartment complex... Lol. I may try to go to a friend's house with a driveway/garage and see about doing that.

You could totally get away with that in an apartment lot unless you have a security guard named Karen rolling around every 15 minutes on a golf cart. I changed a starter on my Prelude once in the lot of my first apartment...

Replaced my throttle position sensor, hot damn does it feel good :usa2:
Over the past couple months if/when I floored it, about half the time it would feel like I got NO extra power (almost like I was a gear higher) and other times it would start sluggish then randomly roar like I was dropping a gear or hitting boost. Now it's smooth as glass

Bushings are all out of my donor arms. Took the wire wheel and knocked off all the rust scale and scuffed the OEM paint (man this stuff is tough). Decided I'm just going to touch up the scratches and rust with the Rustoleum Rust Reformer and then do a few coats of enamel to freshes the arms up. Really happy with how this is turning out so far. The one thing I wonder about is how much paint I should put on the inside of the bushings sleeves. I assume there is a point where it's too much and it makes your life harder getting the whitelines in. Should I just let overspray on the rest of the arms take care of it? One coat?

Also installed the other OEM recovery hook that I snagged at the yard. I like how it gives me a little extra radiator protection too on that side since the RCI skids don't cover the corners. Couldn't find a specific torque spec for this but based on the 8 on the bolts I looked it up in the general torque spec chart and it said 80ft lbs. Checked on the other side though and I went up to 100 before I quit so I put the new one up to 100 for now. Does anyone know what these come at from the factory?

The starter in my neighbors 97 Limited died and she asked me what it could be, contacts naturally. She had a red-labeled, rebuilt Toyota starter in her truck.

Her husband helped while I pulled her starter, swapped contacts and plunger using a spare Victory Lap kit I had in stock, and threw the starter back in.

They wanted to give me $250 for it, I told them that was nuts and happily accepted a couple bottles of wine for my time and parts.

I just knocked out my starter last weekend in the parking lot, but it was on a Sunday. Nobody said anything to me, but I don't think they're as strict about that as other places. Which is great for me. I've dealt with Karen on the golf cart in the past, though! Hahahaha

yahoo...today i got to switch to 2wd...first time since mid october...but did have to go back to 4wd for the last 1/4 mile....yahoo...

From my experience, the gas tank is too low... I'll be raising mine up as well as angling the spare up to gain more departure angle

Hey octanejunkie, did you look into the rotopax option? Ive reached out to 4xinnovation about that. Angling the spare tire sounds like cutting and re-welding. :frusty:
