I have one, too, that is burnt out and It is small and hard to remove. How did you do it?

I got on my knees and worked the whole socket out of its hole with my fingertips. I had tried it before and failed, but this time I got lucky. There is no particular trick I can tell you. There is a very short wire that can be unplugged by pushing a tab--but don't let it get sucked back into the hole or you will have to fish for it. I did, a long Allen key snagged it.

Then once you have the socket away from the truck, take it into the light and there is a tab that opens the plastic grate. Then I just levered the bulb out with a small screwdriver right where base turns into bulb.

This is on a '99 SR5.

Installed an Infinity Basslink... It was a bit too late to crank it up to tune it by the time I was done, but it sounded pretty good at low levels =)

Best $60 sub/amp I've ever had =p

oh no... lol! I decided instead of being gentle,careful and afraid, i'm just gonna go nuts and hack that whole center piece out. I searched long and hard for some decent grill material to where I finally found some really nice plastic stuff that suited my preferences.

I wish I had enough to do the full upper grill too then i could bang our the satoshi mod with this. But yeah, Its some cool stuff, it looks like the mesh on the new FJ's So we'll see how it goes.
