found some xd monsters on craigslist for 500 with some goodrich tires. they were a little scratched up but nothin a coat paint cant fix. painted them and put them on. loving the new look though

This morning I loaded up my 4Runner and hooked up my boat and headed up near Mt. St. Helens to go fly fishing. Ended up snowing last night and all day today. At about 2800-3000 feet I hit the fluffy white stuff and at about 4000 feet I was in about a foot of snow. Ended up pulling my boat and trailer like a sled thru most of it. I got my new tires yesterday but the plan of mounting them myself was a failure so my old 20% tread left AT's got me where I was going but there was some sliding and spinning. No jack-knifing.

Thanks guys, means a lot. So much going through my head right now. Took a closer look today, the rear axle is cracked/bent, the front axle is shifted 2" towards the passenger side, both driver side doors are slammed and the rocker is destroyed, the passenger side is all scraped up, 3 wheels are damaged, and the hatch doesn't open. I'm sure it's dead.

I've got a few messages out to see what's out there for replacements, I really fell into the 1st one, it was perfect and right in front of me. I've tossed around the idea of swapping the driveline into a NA 4Runner, but I'll never find a truck as clean as this one was, the RHD didn't bother me. Plus there is a lot of potential for damaged cases, bellhousings, mounts, etc from the looks of the truck. I think the shell to do this would cost a premium, if I could even find one. It would have to come out of the southern US.

There's a '96 Landcruiser 90 Prado, which is damn near the same truck mechanically, but with a different body and interior, it's even the same colors. I just don't think I like it as much. It is intercooled though.

I'm going to look at HDJ80/HDJ81's, but I'm guessing they'll be priced out of my budget, and nothing else has the power rear window, which I use whenever I can. They might actually be bigger than I want, the Surf was a very nice size for my lifestyle.

I'd love to find another Surf that clean, but it would have to be intercooled if I got another one. I'm really going to miss this vehicle, I had a ton of time into it in the last year, and really grew attached which I'm sure many of you can relate to. 3rd gens are the best vehicles I've ever been involved with, and I had 3 Acura EL's (EK series civic platform) which was tough to beat.

All of that is 2ndary, I need to get as much money back out of this thing as possible, I am not looking forward to this.

wow, really sorry to hear that. Its sad that the person just left, pretty heartless. I hope they somehow find that idiot. Glad you are ok though. Your 4runner (surf) saved you, kinda a good way to look at it. Good luck on getting everything back together again. Im sure you will find something good and can fix it up to your own. It really sucks, but its sort of a fresh start, good luck!

Got hit and run on my way home last night, car came out of a back alley on my right and slammed into the driver side door, spun me around and rolled the truck once. Car drove around me and continued on, nearly driving over its front bumper in the process. Truck is totaled, I'm OK.

Wow glad you are OK.. Same situation happened to me last year got hit spun 4 lanes over and hit the wall on the freeway.. The other guy spun into the direction on traffic and took off.. Witness couldnt get any info except make/model which is and was useless..

Anyways, hope they get some kind of lead to this.. Or as i would think of it is that Karma is a you know what

New Wheels!

Got some 16x8 Pro Comp Xtreme 6089 Wheels put on.

Still waiting on my black locking gorilla lugs, and I'm going to plastidip my hub caps that came chrome.

They are sitting on 265/75R16 Falken Wild Peak A/T right now. I'd like to pick up some used 285s that have a more aggressive tread, but we'll see how the flow is going in the next month or so.

Next ... tundra disc conversion and service rear brakes, and remove and paint rear bumper satin black.
