Installed my CB Antenna mount and painted it to seal the metal for now, but might leave it the chromish, now to get the rest (CB w/ Firestick , lol)

Compression tested my newest one. Numbers were decent. 145-125 dry, 220-176 wet. Definitely a cooling system issue with this one, and not the freshest motor but I do think it'll run for quite a while.

Changed the oil with Valvoline Max Life 10w-30 Full Synthetic.

Visualized my timing belt and water pump change.

Did a leak down test on the newest project today. Pretty decent, worst one was 22%, best was 18%. But, I kind of guessed at TDC too, I just dropped an extension into the cylinder through the spark plug whole and rotated the crank until it was at the top. So considering I may not have been exactly TDC on all cylinders, I'm happy with the numbers. Also further evidence to me that it doesn't have a cracked head. So, I flushed the cooling system and put a new thermostat in it. Have to grab some distiller water and antifreeze in the morning so fingers crossed.

Day one

Today I purchased my first Toyota...1999 4R SR5 2WD... 221,546 but it really didn't look a mile over 100 / 105,000. $4,000 cash and didn't even blink. Everything works but I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions in the coming weeks.

Changed oil and filter, started to replace my leaking output shaft seal but I broke the only extension I had for my ratchet so I will try again next week!

started working on wiring for some roof mounted HIDs

Ran the wires through the roof-headliner-a pillar and into the engine compartment. The rest should be easy.:banana:

Pulled my air box and intake, cleaned them both and the throttle body. Shined up the motor, and scrubbed some grease off the bottom end.

Tomorrow: replace rear brake shoes and leaking wheel cylinders.

It looks as if CBI delivered for BFAD.

I found I had a ripped CV boot on Friday. Got O'reilys to give me another whole new CV. Put it in today. It took me less than an hour.

On start up though I noticed some blue smoke. Not good. I have to do a compression test and figure out which valve seals are bad.
