What I did with my 4Runner today

I drove it to work, noting that my new aftermarket turn signal switch does not work properly, in that it doesn't shut off after turning a corner. But the bigger problem was fixed, which was that it would click erratically. I guess the aftermarket switches (the actual thing you move with your hand to turn left and right, and to turn headlights on and off) are not reliable. When filling up with gas, I removed the switch and reinstalled it, in case I had done something wrong the first time...But nope! It still didn't work. I am sending it back and buying a used OEM one from someplace.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, not sure why it wouldn't start. Is the knocking coming from the lower end? Or from the valve train? Could also be a cracked flex plate, that may be why it wouldn't start. I encourage you to do a lot of searching about the noise, tons of thread on these trucks making odd sounds.

Thanks for link and help. Ordered it that night and put it in last night in about 20min. filled her up and drove her around. every thing sounds good. I am 100% sure I heard what was a knocking sound when i got off this trail and onto the pavement. only happened once, still a little skeptical but so far so good.

Operation "Plastic refresh" continues while I save up for real maintenance stuff. Knocked out the windshield wiper arms and plastic guard underneath, as well as my grill, which the PO had done up with Zipties even though the clips work fine??...

Also, notice anything about the yota logo? Matches my wheels now [emoji847]

Drivers door lock

Finally got my drivers door to unlock using the key. the center tumbler broke into two pieces and wouldn't turn.

also spent $1,700 and finally got long list of things done,
1.) Timing belt, water pump, belt kit.
2.) radiator and hoses
3.) L/R valve cover gasket
4.) plugs and wires
Asked him to check all bushings and ball joints, said they're fine for now, #roadtrip soon

I installed an OEM CD player to match my OEM radio. I just wanted all of the open dash space filled as it would be as if new. I don't use CD's often but my wife listens to Books On CD's when she drives the Runner.

Just went with a 1". Thought about the 1.5 but I decided that it'd be too much with the suspension lift. Don't know why, but that's what I came to as a conclusion. I don't plan on running 35's but who knows, right?

His Paypal was down so I mentioned it to him in the thread and got it back up in a few minutes of talking. So far I'd say his service is great!
