Might want to check the pressure rating on that cap. You need .9 bar to 1.1 bar ideally — 1.1 being if your cooling system is in good shape (hoses and radiator specifically) and can handle a slightly elevated working pressure.

It's all splitting hairs really though.

HOLY SHIT, they fit!!

MB 352 17x9 4.5BS rims, Nitto Ridge Grappler 295/70/17 E and 1.25" wheel spacers. I think that I could clear them without the spacers but I like the wider stance. So far it looks like the only rub point at full compression will be the rear pinch weld. I'll know more after some trials this weekend but it appears the research paid off. :cheer2:

Oh man that sucks. At least you know you won't have any additional weight from the gasoline when you go to replace it. My two regrets when I dropped the tank to swap fuel pumps: leaving 1/4 tank in it, and doing it in my sloped driveway. Basically let the damn thing come down on top of my chest and then squirmed out from beneath the car with the tank still on top of me. Snot fun.

Cap is a cheap test/check. How many miles?

I can tell you my cap doesn't look like yours, haha.

Get a OEM. I had a aftermarket and it never sealed right. Always lost Coolant from the reservoir

Pulling over to side of Imperial Hwy with blade in the tank, pouring gas and the other half dragging on the ground

Turns out blade made by Honda. I hate Honda

Speaking of pinch weld mod... I was all set to fold and hammer away the afternoon on my pinchweld6mod. Got her all jacked up, but then discovered Discount Tire crossthreaded a lug AGAIN!! THIS IS THE SECOND TIME, on at least three ##@%$^ lugs that they botched! How hard is that shit? Marked the lug and put it back together...

Reminds me of seeing the vehicular carnage that happened when someone lost their industrial reinforced trailer ramps on I-5. There were no fewer than 23 cars pulled to the side of the road for the next two miles. Single flats, double flats, destroyed radiators... and That's just what I could see! I avoided it because I had enough time to see it and avoid it and got lucky.

That's what happens when you give an impact to a knucklehead. Start them by hand at least three turns. It's not rocket science.

I put my tires on myself but had them mounted by my local shop. Good guys that always treat me well. The mechanic I trust was off today so someone else mounted them. The Ridge Grapplers have two sidewall tread patterns. I told the kid to mount the aggressive side out. I stood there and had him mount the first one. It was correct. I went back inside to chat with a buddy who works behind the counter. Went back out 10 minutes later and all the tires where mounted. Two of them where backwards. He fixed them pretty quick though. lol

My sister ramped a semi's fifth wheel plate in a Taurus once. Drove away so I was pretty impressed

I recently had a wheel weight stick in my tire... it didn't look like much until it was removed. nothing close to your experience but still a bummer.
