The other day I put some stuff in my cart from The Retro Fit Source. I was gonna purchase then and there so I made an account. I got sidetracked and forgot about it. In other news...

I just got done checking all my wheel lugs and discovered that Discount Tire cross threaded not only one, but THREE of my wheel lugs. :redbrick: Way to go guys! I discovered this little jewel the other day when I was trying to do my pinch weld mod. They did this to me just a few months back when I purchased my Pro Comp 7069s. They cross threaded two lugs. I had to have two studs replaced. They reimbursed me, but I had to do a lot of running around on my free time and spend WAY too much time at a freakin tire store for my liking. Now it looks like I get to have three studs replaced. I am not sure that I will go back to have them rotate tires anymore. I just sent their customer service an email about my experience. I am giving them an opportunity to figure out a way to make this right. We'll see.

Sent the poor creature pavement skiing for a piece, it rolled and ran away. I hopped out to survey the damage, and dammit, no need for an ARB at all.

I guess I like the fat lip bumper after all, seems to have held the impact off the more fragile grille area. I haven't had time to inspect really close, it wasn't perfect to begin with, but outside hair all over the grille, I think I came out unscathed. :thumb3:

I have had less then great luck with Discount down in Lacey myself. They most recently bent a wheel, a factory 17" wheel on one of my cars. I had been there the day prior getting 245/45's mounted which didn't quite clear, so I went back the NEXT day to get 245/40s and saw the runout on my wheel was AWFUL. They had the new guy doing my dismount and process by himself and he bent the shit out of my wheel. The manager literally said our machinery cannot bend a wheel. Then they could not replace it, which the dealer still sells them, I called right infront of him. Then they finally offered to have it professionally repaired, but it's chrome, so 2 weeks to fix and I'm without a car.

Best of luck with yours, I request senior employee's now if they do anything, and I take everything in there OFF the vehicle. Sucks, but it saves half the potential headaches.

Bunch of maintenance completed with all OEM parts. Some from Camelback and others from Amazon.
Plugs and wires, valve cover gaskets, plenum gaskets, PCV valve, cam plugs, spark plug tube seals, and valve cover nut seals.
Replace throttle body (used) to repair high idle issues. IACV was good but shaft was worn on the throttle body making it stick.
New drivers side LBJ, ITRE, & OTRE (originals w/360,000 miles) and alignment. Did passenger side in the fall when I installed Sonoran lift kit
Oil & filter change
A/C button and blower resistor.
Still do is LCA bushings and my PCK from imkeith

I'm wondering if that's what's going on with mine. I did the 13WL brake upgrade in the front in November and they are already warped.

I'm going to the 13wl as well but plan to do the rears first and do a complete bleed. Sorry to hear yours are warped. Frustrates me to no end redoing stuff I've already spent a lot of money on...

They did this to me with my Grand Am a couple of times and I swore not to ever step foot into another Discount Tire store ever again. When I got my T4R on Feb last year and had to get new tires put on, I found Tires Plus actually has a Hunter machine for tire balance so I paid for life time alignment and tire balance and never looked back... Since then I've had 3 alignments and 2 tire balances and have been extremely happy. Hope you have a store near you.

I make the tire shop start my lug nuts by hand now. The last time they striped 2 lug nuts and broke a third trying to get a frozen lug but off was the last time I didn't tell them how to do their job.

Thanks man. I was thinking that maybe they are really only good for prices, and putting tires on wheels. This will be their 5th cross thread, across 5 different wheels, on two separate visits. This time was just a disaster.

For any future dealings with DT, I might request to start the bolts... something... I just don't trust them at all.

I got two quotes today for replacing the 3 studs.

Quote #1: Rock Auto in Kent, WA. quoted $820.69 and said that a dealership would be three times that much. (this is with my supplied OEM studs from Toyota.

For shits and giggles, I also wanted a quote from the Toyota Dealership near my work.

Quote #2 Toyota of Seattle quoted about $220 for all three studs. Guess where I am going? lol.

They must be smokin rock at Rock Auto thinking that is fair compensation for the work requested. That job should not be a shift killer. LOL.

I know it seems like a straightforward bit of maintenance, but this is something that I am holding Discount Tire responsible for. It I messed up my lugs, I would be happy to fix it. But there needs to be a consequence for poor service.

JESUS, that is a steep ass estimate for 3 studs lol. A few hundred more an you can buy a complete parts 4runner.

Today I repainted a new license plate garnish panel. Removed my stock unit with 4runner emblem and installed one from an 02' donor with no emblem. Lubed rear window tracks and made sure everything looked good in there.

Installed my new retrofit lights but was too lazy to aim them today. Ballasts are all tucked away nice and industrial velcrow holding them in place. Wiring ran clean and tight to the core support. Wouldn't even know they were there if you didn't look for them.
