Got an alignment. Sketchy as hell driving it to the shop after all new ball joints and tie rod ends went in.

I started on the front end, doing the works, the whole shabang; bushings, ball joints, tie rods, etc.
Timmy's videos make it pretty easy. Thanks again Tim ! I do one side at a time so I can see how to put it back together...just in case.

Cleaned the MAF sensor on my ‘ 01. Looked like it had never been done. Hopefully will stop the P0171 code!

I picked up this 3rd gen last month with 105k on it. Since then I've....

-changed the radiator/timing belt kit
-replaced the lower ball joints
-outer tie rods and both sway bar end links
- done the Fuel Sender TSB
- OME shocks/springs all the way around
- SCS Ray 10's w/ Duratracs

Wow. That paint looks cleaned, polished, and ceramic coated, lol.

Yesterday I picked up a SwissLink box and installed a tie down for it. Details in my build thread.

Today I rotated the tires.

Wtf!

They call that an alignment? how did it drive after? Your caster is way off specs. I would raise the caster to get that truck straight and better steering return.
What I don't get is why did the SAI and IA change before and after? All they did was a toe set.

What bushings did you use for the control arms, I'm due since I'm over 300k.

Scored and saved from the crusher - a minty set of 2002 tail lamps!! Replaced the old style. New Zevo LED bulbs throughout / new LED relay / no warning lights, no hyper-flash....

'Set the toe and let it go" That's all the big chain tire stores are capable of doing and when you return to complain about how bad the vehicle steers they will blame every other component on the vehicle as being the problem- not their lack of ability to properly fix something.

$75 a week?
What kind of fuel are you running ?
I only use cheveron premium and from bone dry empty it’s $60.

87 octane from BP. 350+ miles a week makes for 2 trips to the pump every week. These rigs aren't exactly the most fuel efficient vehicles ever produced. For me, the t4r was never going to be a DD so the fuel mileage wasn't the biggest factor in buying one. It had to do DD service when I sold my CRV but now that I have a daily hoopty to drive around in, I can focus more on doing the overland/base camp outfitting to the 'runner and use it as a 2nd vehicle.

Old lower bushings out,
new lower bushings in.
Old upper bushings out, new upper bushings in.
The happy couple !

Drives straight... And was a reputable shop... I'd better bring these concerns up with the husband, cause I really don't know shiiit about it. Could the suspension lift have anything to do with being off spec?

I changed my oil with Mobil 1 High Mileage and a Toyota filter after 5,000 miles. Since this was my first time taking off the front skid plates from the last trip out, so I got to see the damage I caused to the radiator support. I came down hard onto a log, causing the skid plate to bend the support up and back. I also found out that I hit the gas tank skid which is now pressing into the gas tank. I should be able to hit it out and make it mostly straight again. All part of the fun!

Be calm Susie

There is no reason to raise hell just ask a question why the caster is still out of specs. did they ran out of adjustment due to the lift? I suggest check you tube about SAI and AI. they can explain it better than I do.
