Today my local alignment guy installed new tie rods, upper and lower ball joints, links, bushings, shocks and springs.

New tires and newer wheels went on Monday.

Finished up the deckplate mod yesterday. I had actually forgotten that I installed it, and a short drive didn't really remind me even though driving it did just feel a bit better. But I've been doing a lot of preventative maintenance, so things have been feeling better anyway.

But when I went to pass someone, I noticed the louder note right away. It definitely sounds more aggressive. I can't say that the power difference is noticeable, but it does feel just a bit snappier from a stop. Either way, I like the sound!

Removing the timing belt AGAIN because of an oil leak out of passenger side cam seal on first start after replacing everything... must have not been 100% straight when I pushed it in with a pvc pipe? Purchased a cam/crank seal set off amazon for try #2!

Thanks! I used this 4.5 inch hole saw and this deckplate. The saw was the absolute perfect size, as the deckplate port just perfectly snugged in with some force. I used Permatex Ultra Grey and some clamps to seal it overnight, then skipped the screws because it is in there solidly, and the only force on it will ever be suction anyway.

Installed a cargo net divider to keep things in the back from becoming projectiles in the front...

You are a brave person for trusting amazon products that deep in the engine.

For me it's OEM from the dealer unless the labor to change it again is like 5 minutes and the part is not critical. I've got moog sway bar links and that's about it.

2) Lower Ball Joints from Partznet
3) Rear axle seals

Will need shocks on 4 corners and LCA bushings. To be continued....

... ALN Suspension bushings for LCA (Amazon)
... Camber bolts (Pair from Rokauto but retained the indexed wheel tabs)
... KYN rear shocks (Amazon, these took the longest time to get here)

these are OEM with an EBay HID rétro fit kit, les than 200$ and 3-4 hours of work,
painted same color as the truck but with a flat clear coat.

Added a 1" body lift and Spidertrax. Do I go with bigger tires? Long travel suspension?
Rear bumper also coming in a couple weeks. And still trying to decide on the front. In the meantime what to do to fill the gap above the front bumper; hmm...

Some bumpers when you buy them have options when they fab it to fill the gap. I think ShrockWorks fills it with their bumpers if I remember correctly.

Did a coolant system flush. I flushed through 6 gallons of distilled water in total by the end. Nothing shows effectiveness like a picture! I believe these were gallons 1, 3, 5, and 6.

The first gallon almost looks clear in the picture, but there was a lot of crud in there. Probably just before the flush started clearing out the gunk that you can see in the second jug.

Not in that order!

Racking my brain as to who the
white 3rd gen w/matching sport hood, auto transmission, arb front bumper, and light bar with/amber ends
that was behind me going up hwy 50 between Gunnison and Old Monarch pass is....I know I've seen it before somewhere...I waved, but my rear window was filthy as heckinsticks.

Had fun out west, now have no choice but to wrench repairs. Oh. Darn.

Montezuma Basin, side trip during drive from Aspen to Gunnison via Pearl Pass for some MacDaddy pizza.

Ha, truth. Maybe not too many of this particular combo following a dirty azure blue 3rd gen 4Runner with gas cans, an orange bucket, and a toilet in the roof rack that was following a jade green 3rd gen up highway 50 between Gunnison and Monarch pass? It was several days ago...

I've seen 1 t4r.org sticker so far.

Met a nice guy in a nice black modded 3rd gen in Norwood, CO at a gas station. Ontario plates, buying diapers.
And camped across from a family in dispersed spots near Clear Lake kinda by Silverton CO. Near-stock very clean silver 3rd gen with tasteful mods.

Seemed like less 3rd gens were about this year. Salida CO had the most of the places we went.
