Do you have a write up on that roof rack wiring?

I have a bit of a different roof rack so my wiring will be different but here's where it comes out(picture). Pull the grab rail from the drivers roof post and pop the panel cover and you can fish the wire from under the dash, along the inside of the panel and into the headliner, then drill a hole thru the roof where ever you want it to exit. I wasn't thrilled with putting a hole in the roof but under the roof rail cap seemed like the best place. The wire has 2 layers of shrink wrap and the cap is filled with silicone and inside of the roof is silicones as well so it is not going to leak.

Installed differential drop kit. Disappointed on the outcome. Cannot tell a difference on the CV angles. Looks pretty much exactly the same. Going to review it tomorrow. Maybe remove it. That sucks.

When you had the diff bolts out and had the diff supported by the jack, did you lower it an inch and then back up to stock position while watching for any difference in the CV angle? That's the first thing I'll be doing. I have a Toytec kit hanging around that I will be popping in soon. I don't expect much visible change....

Well seeing as how I've driven multiple bone stock cars down that road dozens of times and never broken a part, let alone a sway bar end link, probably anything else. I'm going back to Moog and welding on a sleeve to extend them. If you're handy on a lathe, you can make these no problem.
If you're interested OCD is gonna be making a new version of these links with ball joints over heim joints, but like hell I'll be trying them or recommend anybody do. Especially with the pricing.
Mind you it was the bolt that sheared, not like the shaft of the link snapping, and that heim/bolt/spacer/nut mix up was giving me hell from the start. And many others. Single axis load isnt great for heim joints anyways so makes sense.

Who told you it's a visual thing? You said it yourself, it's a 1in drop - not exactly a huge distance. The axles are being relaxed by like 5 degrees. Not a lot to the eyes but a huge difference to axles that arent supposed to be riding at an increased angle to begin with.
The higher the angle, the more likely they are to wear prematurely and tear, clack or blowout altogether. If that's something you want to deal with, go for it. Personally I cant think of a single person that's removed it or advised doing so, only the opposite.

I bought the diff drop kit when I did my lift 6 years ago. Ended up selling it and never intalling it since everything seemed overrated and everything was working just fine without it.

I challenge you to find someone who was having cv blows out early and the drop kit stopped it.

Did my first "off-roading" after my 4wd conversion. Took the daughter with and she was so scared going down that she wanted out. The trail I was on got too narrow to go any further so I had to turn around and go back up. 4wd is so much fun. We were both impressed with what the 4Runner could do. Did a small up/down water crossing no problem too. Much fun. One thing of note is the Trail Gear 120198-1 transmission mount/skid plate reflects exhaust noise up. It is right below the cat and I just feel like I hear more of the engine exhaust note now. I'm not a fan of the V6 sound so it's making want to do a 4.7 V8 swap.

Also found a cheap set of 17 wheels with Mickey Thompson tires. Put them on and cleaned them up. They ride better and quieter than the 31x10.5R15's M/T's. Give it a sportier look, but I'm keeping the 15" M/T's to swap on the next time I go off-roading. This baby has been my daily for the last month.

I agree. I'm using the same skid/crossmember from trail gear and it definately deflects noise upward. I'm likely to lay some sound deadening in the cab. I also want a 2uz swap...mostly cause I'm tired of this intermittent misfire I can't find.

I laid on the ground underneath it, poked at a few things, and then ordered a bunch of parts to tighten up the front end. Ball joints and bushings and tie rods, oh my!

Now to start limbering up my back in preparation for laying under the truck all week...

So I really wanted to modernize my 3rd gen's face and went shopping on Amazon for some nice DRLs + Turn signals that would fit the body/face lines. Pretty happy with how these all turned out. Now it's time to fabricate the new bumper from scratch.
