That's a cool idea and I might have considered it but I already installed a transmission gauge hard mounted into my a-pilar.

Tonight, I just started a Satoshi grill mod using a 2nd Gen Toyota, hard to find, radiator grill letter emblem. - Will post up once completed.

Did the VCG job today, it was about time. Bought the Runner at 165k, 225k on it now. Nothing but Toyota branded 5-30 oil and OEM oil filters from the dealer since I've owned it...every 3-5k miles, new oil filter every other oil change...very happy with how clean the top of the heads look. Lost the “hardened” PCV valve grommet in the baffle so had to dig that out, and flush (the biggest pain). Everything else was pretty straight forward thanks to Tim and his videos (thank you Tim and Sean!). Underside of the valve covers had a little scale. P/S wire loom cover was okay besides the mounting tabs to valve cover (you can see where they broke in the first pic), D/S loom cover crumbled into a thousand little pieces as expected. Wrapped loom with self fusing silicone tape apparently good to 500*f and made some new mounts from modified cable straps and some leftover silicone intake tube to stop the chaffing...

Nice idea with the mounts for the wire harness. My tabs broke when I did the job a few years back. I may try something like this. Thanks!

'02 LTD 2WD 267k...crawled under the rear to apply some PB Blaster to sway bar end links and shock mounts for an impending rear suspension refresh. I've had my Runner for 4 years and I don't think I've ever looked at the coil springs, struts or shocks. Noticed that the bump stops in the rear, both at the top of the coils and the rear axle are actually touching...while just sitting naturally in the driveway. There are paint marks on the springs and some imprinted lettering on the shocks but didn't pay much attention. I'll get a better look when I remove them later this week. Measurements from center of rear hub to bottom of fender flare today was 18.5" on both sides. That's with brand new 265/70/r16 Hankook's installed in the rear last week. The front will be getting new struts, springs and tires in the next few weeks as well.

Today, I rebuilt the Evap system with new hoses, copper/nickel tubing, and SS crimp clamps.

When I bought it there were a few things already done to it. This is what I'll be adding: skid plates, new tires and wheels, rear locker, front bumper, cb radio...then of course the aesthetics: window visors, seat covers, floor liners, extra storage. I am going to paint the door handles, side mirrors, and rear bumper black.
