upper and lower rear control arm bushings. bit of a premature post since i ran out of steam and will put one arm back in tomorrow. what a pain. right-side upper was rusty and fought me, but the left was clean and the bushing ejected fairly easily. weird. thanks [MENTION=120071]mtbtim[/MENTION] for the encouragement.

Pulled out my front seats. Easy peasy 14mm bolts on the floor came out nice and 10mm bolts to get the bottom pan off. Got the side pieces off and broke a clip on each seat. The bottom pan going for repair fix foam and install new bottom cover. Also bringing a seat heater set to include with the install.

Removed the back seats to prep for building a camping bed in the back.
maybe not so much what I did to it, but did with it.
So my neighbor who loves subaru's has a 2014 and when I bought my old 2001 he was like "why not a subie, they are amazing " ( they are good , we have one in the family )
today I took my 20 year old 4 runner, hit 4low, hit the locker, and pulled him and his subie out of a snow bank, just walked him right out.

Not at all exciting, but I replaced my PCV hose, grommet and valve. The entire lip crumbled to bits and then of course most of what was left in the hole fell into the engine. Luckily some needle-nosed pliers and a flashlight were all that was required to fish the bits out. Don't hesitate to plow ahead with this, as the bits don't actually fall too far inside.

Finally got my new steering rack installed. Multiple setbacks like removing the pressure lines and the rag joint from the rack splines extended the project a lot longer than I thought it would take. Even ended up shearing the lower pinch bolt in the newly installed rag joint because I set the torque wrench to 36 foot lbs instead of 26! I learned a lot on this project. It was definitely the hardest repair I’ve had on this truck. Happy to do the work myself though. Now to get an alignment!

Set up a trans flush with the local Toyota dealer for saturday. Was a little hesitant given all the debate around it but they assured me everything would be fine. Don't know when (or if) the fluid was last changed out but it's in need, and I figure i should probably start taking care of a 300k mile trans :wof:
with all that work listed that you have done, why aren't you doing the flush...its pretty easy and timmy made a easy to follow video on it. just wondering.

No I want Toyota but the passenger side was still in warranty and yes we will see the difference..my last ball joints were both moons and lasted over 50,000 miles
