This community has been amazing. Such a wealth of information and friendly members.
Earlier tonight we finished building this. It's just a homemade MDF subwoofer box, but we put a lot of effort into it. Still needs some paint/finishing, but it looks good. She designed and CNC'd it. It's going to go with a down4sound JP95 that hopefully we will get a day off to install sometime. Probably going to remove all the seats/carpet to do so, and give them a good power-washing whenever that happens. Posting this reminds me to finally place a rockauto order and include an alternator upgrade...

That looks awesome dude! I installed a JBL 12" powered sub in my 3rd gen about a year ago and I love it. Honestly though, yours looks better. I really dig that 4Runner logo up in the corner. So coo!

Funny, I broke my Toyota one not long after I got the vehicle and recently
just installed an AVS BugFlector II - more to hide a dent, but I did miss
the functionality of it.
I was none too impressed with the plastic mounting hardware, so I'm
taking a chance with small rivnuts and plastic washers.

Semi related - was at work today and met some guys from our Louisiana location. One of them showed me a picture of his 97 4Runner... with 480k on the clock :shocked: :usa2:

Yeah, the mounting hardware that comes with the AVS deflector aren't the greatest or the strongest. But mine have held up nicely over the past year (knock on wood) and are running strong still.

Replaced the original Heater Control Valve (HCV). Part number is: 8724035070, "HVAC Heater Control Valve."
Easy job, even for a relative newbie. Hose Clamp pliers helped a lot. The original HCV's plastic had broken off and was stuck in the hose, to I had to beat on the hose to get all of the plastic pieces out. The bolt is a 10mm that's not super tight.
A new OEM HCV was about $160 from the stealer but I was able to get it overnight after I ordered it yesterday. Plus I had to refill the coolant reservoir with the pink stuff, which was about $37 for a gallon. I didn't need to use the entire gallon.
It took me about an hour to complete the job. Here are the pics:

Looks awesome man! Toying with the idea of doing that on mine. What size lift do you have on there? I'm trying to get an idea of what a 2" lift would look like without the running boards.
