Here's most of the center console, minus the ashtray cluster that I am waiting on an LED to solder in to the cig lighter.

Awesome, thanks Emelianenkov, that helps a lot !

Can you comment on the light output of the LED units vs the Hellas (what watt bulbs are in the Hellas by the way)? I am trying to decide how much I need for LED units (bulb count) to get atleast in the range of my 55w bulbs in my Rallye 4000's.

I'm guessing what you used is pretty close.

Thanks.

How hard ws the install ? Did you paint or move the washer fluid bottle ? I have to wire up turn signals, acro lights and a winch after mine gets powdercoat (having local powdercoat done incase i have issues with rust)so I have a little project ahead of me.

Really easy, had the factory stuff off and new bumper on in an hour. I did have to trim my grill so the hood would close which was kind of a bummer.

I havent done anything with the washer bottle yet...still working on it but damn it is ugly. I wasnt getting good results with the acro connectors so i ditched them and soldered the wires.

You will want someone to help, not because it is heavy but just because it is akward.

If you have any questions pm me and i will try to help.

redid my retrofit, driver side only, was sitting a little low, so it was shooting through that dimple on the lens. making my cutoff fuzzy that side, so i fixed it by mounting the projector higher about 1/8 inch or so, and jb weld it in place, need to do pass side some other time. gf getting jealous i spend more time on my truck than her.

You have to establish from the beginning that you've had the truck longer and you love it more.

Followed a range rover into a mud puddle by my local mall. He went down past the wheels and didn't even slow down.

Anyone in the bayarea wants me to retro their headlights, i would like to practice more on the 06+, mainly using rx afs projectors.

Nuthin' today, but yesterday... I washed 100lbs of mud off, changed the oil, rotated and balanced the tires, turned the front rotors (damn brake vibration finally gone), and detailed the interior. Seems like alot but thats mostly just my normal 5k service.

Wait. You did all that yourself? At home? You are very fortunate (a) to have the requisite gifts and (b) to have the requisite space!

Well Saturday i installed my afe intake. I didnt really notice a big difference with the intake until i drove it today. I guess the car just got use to the new intake or something. Also today i finally got my headers and other exhaust parts all at once! I will try to get them all put on tomorrow. Cant wait! :)

Picked up a second set of wheels in exchange for a gauge swap :p. They're in horrible condition, but I don't care at all. I'll rattle can them when I get the chance

It's extremely relevant, you're showing your ignorance by failing to realize how immature and irresponsible it is to drive 100mph or greater on public roads

Wait. Clearly further background info is required here. I'm talking about roads that are tabletop flat, ruler straight and basically empty, wherein such few vehicles that are observable routinely exceed the speed limit by more than ten MPH. When I set cruise control on 80 MPH, the only vehicles I passed were 18-wheelers. I got passed by a Dodge Ram dually diesel pulling a long horse trailer, while I was doing 80 MPH; I got passed by a little old lady in some wretched-looking POS economy car towing a fishing skiff on a trailer while I was doing 80 MPH on cruise control. Couldn't believe it. Mississippi and Louisiana were eye-openers when it comes to high posted speed limits, lax enforcement thereof, and a general will to cruise in the low 80s. Just rolling along with what little traffic there was, was a revelation.

Then I got to Texas and things sped up even further. Posted speed limit went up to 75 MPH, and literally everyone was cruising along in the low 80s, except for the occasional Porsche (or whatever) that blew by at God only knows what speeds. I did see a few marked police cars on the other side of the highway, but none on my side, and the radar in use was old, obsolete, and stayed on all the time, announcing its presence more than 1-1/2 miles away. Then I got to El Paso and the speed limit went to 80 MPH, with long, straight, flat and basically deserted roads. Un-flippin'-believable! That's where I bumped my speed up to 100 MPH a couple of times, with no one in sight in front or behind me for a couple of miles or more. The truck loved it! Just loafed along at a steady 100 MPH at 3,000 RPM, smooth and serene as could be. In fact, the truck was actually quieter at 100 MPH than it was at 70 MPH, which surprised me. NM and AZ were more of the same: high posted speed limits, lax enforcement, and traffic (what little there was of it) determined to cruise in the low to mid-80s. Absolutely delightful.

It's important to note that I reside in the People's Republic of Maryland, which in turn is just below the People's Republic of New Jersey. Neither state permits anything remotely like the driving described above, irrespective of the driving conditions, and both are remorseless in suppressing any desire to do so, by Draconian enforcement techniques. So when I got out west and saw that there were still a few Americans actually enjoying freedoms I could scarcely dream of back east, I took full advantage, with apologies to no one.

You see, we think we're typical, but we're not. We think we're "normal," but we're not. We are abnormal - we are in fact SUB-normal in terms of our high speed driving skills. It's a very very different lifestyle from Mississippi westward, and a WILDLY different lifestyle from Texas westward. I like it. I'm seriously considering moving out there, just to enj
oy the freedoms that we've been denied all along the east coast.

I hasten to add that at no time did I do any broken field running, nor any tailgating, nor anything else that might be considered "aggressive" driving. Mostly there was simply no one else around, and when there were other cars around, they were driving faster than I was, 99% of the time. Loved it.

In 1976 I drove from Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma Arizona to my home in Phoenix Arizona, 198 miles in 2 hours.

Ironically, 1976 was my last year for fast cars too. I bought a 1976 455 Trans-Am. Liked it well enough but sold it less than 1-1/2 years later. The main reason for my previous posts was to rave about how competent and versatile a vehicle the 4Runner is. I had no idea -- none whatsoever -- that a V-6 4X4 would have such competence at grand touring speeds, and would not have believed it had a salesman tried to tell me that. I am mightily impresdsed.
