What did you do with your 4runner today?

[MENTION=5149]riceandpho[/MENTION] often recommends EBC yellow stuff pads for the front.. he'll be here shortly to comment. I believe they are ceramic IIRC
 
Made an appt at Toyota dealer. I swear whenever i have fun something likes to act up. Hopefully this one is cheaper.

the first time i saw these on an FJ I knew i would get them eventually. I can't wait to wrap them in an aggressive tire and get it all mounted.

as far as hitch accessories i have a tow hook, bike rack, cargo basket, and bed extender so i think i can find a use for it. also might use it for moving trailers or getting my brothers 2wd taco unstuck

ebc yellow pads are dusty, thats only if you dont clean the wheels like every 2 weeks, they are heavy duty compare to the greens 6000s i had before, but the yellow is heavy duty if you have alot of weight in the truck, the greens are a good pad, just get the 7000's up front if you want a cleaner wheel, the 6000s are a nice upgrade. the combo of pads go like this
front 7000s and rear 6000s
front 6000s and rear 6000s
front yellow and rear yellow
front yellow and rear 6000s
this is from the ebc website, thats what they recommend paring the pads.

Drove mine to work today and had the check engine light come on along with the traction light and a blinking VSC light. Came to find out I had a bad gas cap so after work, $27 and 10 min later I had swapped the gas cap for new OEM one from dealership and did a battery reset. Back in business!!!
 
Scheduled an appointment to r&r timing belt and water pump for $750 in a week. Is that too much? Oh and the Dealership was asking $900.

Seriously, consider replacement calipers from Autozone! They have a lifetime warranty, so if they ever seize, they replace them for free for life, no questions asked!

I also recommend the EBC yellowstuff pads. Those things rule!

I got a quote at the dealer for $850, and am probably going to go that route. $750 is good! There have been guys on here who have had it done in the $600 range, and others in the $1000 range. Call around, find the best price, and go for it.
 
got brakes inspected, tires balanced, rotated. Nothing was found and no uneven wear. They greased slide pins as well.

Driving home, captured an accident on my dash cam. Turned around and showed the officer who had me email him the video file just in case they need it! Guy in an old dodge pick up flew around a corner and slammed the Honda Civic that was first at the light and clipped the Nissan behind the Civic before coming to a stop. Driver of the Civic got taken to the hospital on a stretcher and the lady in the Nissan behind the Civic was my Geometry teacher in middle school. Nobody seemed seriously hurt thankfully, but I finally got some on-road use out of my camera!

im stupid meticulous when i clean. But i also spray undercarriage dressing every time i wash to keep it all looking clean/new. Usually right after i come back from vacation after some mild wheeling i clean it good. I hate when its dirty and like having it all looking new and clean.

my undercarriage is insanely dirty :naughty:

all that sand from the pine barrens and I don't have a hose since I live in an apt...

all the dirty will protect the frame from salt. Do you know what road salt is? :lmao:
