Thanks. I restored them. I literally sat in my shower with wet/dry sandpaper and sanded and sanded with water running over them. I also polished the inside of the lens with a pad and paste because it looked like the inside of a dirty windshield, crap had accumulated on it. I finished with 2000 grit and then used the spar urethane/mineral spirits method to clear the lens. It took me 10-12 tries to figure out how to get the best results. I wasn't happy with the method last time but it was due to user error. This time, they turned out great tho.

Did you seal them? From the research I've done, when you sand the outside you remove the original uv protectant sealant and they will oxidize fairy quickly. Not sure the steps to seal/protect them but this is what I keep coming across.

That's what the spar urethane was for. It's kind of a home brew sealant.

Some have used the spar in a rattle can but it doesn't work as well because it's not being mixed with the mineral spirits. I have no idea what the addition of the spirits does but as you can see, mine came out really clear. As far as longevity, time will tell.

Cool link! The mineral spirits are just a thinning agent so you get a smoother finish and easier application.
 
Ordered up some LED tail lights. Sure my dad is really happy that I'm ordering parts for my car when he has to replace the back bumper, quarter panel, and tail lights on his Lexus. (Ran into the garage door he told me... ya, sure...)

I planned on doing this in the next few months on my 06! The only difference is that I wanted to paint my shrouds silver to match my paint. But I wanted the back drop blacked out and two projectors per housing and a an amber led halo around each projector! Can't believe we got so close to the same idea!
 
Nothing more exciting than driving it to the bank and back. I just really love this truck, love the way it looks and drives. The perfect size, power, and capability for me and my needs. I'm really, really glad to be back in a 4thGen 4R. :humble:
 
Picked up a couple of gallons of coolant from Toyota today. I knew my coolant was low when I looked a few weeks ago but not low enough to be concerned. Today the reservoir was empty so I filled it back up. I have a feeling the radiator has a leak but I don't see any wet spots on the ground or around the radiator.

Could it be a rad hose?
