What did you do with your 4runner today?

new slotted and cross drilled front rotors, pads and brake fluid flush. Found out an inside piston was ceased on both calipers (surprise, surprise) so those are now being replaced as well. And since the wheels are already off. a 3/2 readylift kit is also going in. :becky:

I planned on doing this in the next few months on my 06! The only difference is that I wanted to paint my shrouds silver to match my paint. But I wanted the back drop blacked out and two projectors per housing and a an amber led halo around each projector! Can't believe we got so close to the same idea!

Yeah I'm really happy with them. Check out zopperman retrofit, I believe he did the color-match if not mistaking.

I was quoted $370 to swap & setup the ring and pinion. I think it sounded a bit high, but that seems the going rate down here from two diff shops.

When I pull the trigger I will just get prebuilt 3rds from ECGS; but the wife wants me to sell the 4Runner and get a new GX460. So torn..

Picked up a couple of gallons of coolant from Toyota today. I knew my coolant was low when I looked a few weeks ago but not low enough to be concerned. Today the reservoir was empty so I filled it back up. I have a feeling the radiator has a leak but I don't see any wet spots on the ground or around the radiator.

Could it be a rad hose?

If an obvious leak isn't showing (and I hate to be the bearer of bad news) it might be a head gasket heading south. :hiding:

Just the install. Both shops quoted $1900-2400 for gears, setup & install. That is why I still haven't done it yet.

I thought about that but I have an 07. I think it was only the earlier years with issues.

Ouch! Luckily my rear diff is already set up and it has the LSD in it. Got it for $100

It's dusty, but cleans up well with some old motor oil

I also snagged a 4 cylinder 3rd member from a pretaco (which is a rare find) with 4.10's for $30, but it's an open diff. I'll resell it for a lot more

Had a small incident last night. Swerved for a family of deer and went off the road into some gravel. Went in too hot and understeered straight through some trash cans, and clipped a tree with my bumper at about 30mph. Luckily no major damage, just ruined the fender and headlight. Bumper absorbed most of the hit, and buckled the outer tube but the frame horns are perfectly fine. Couldnt really have asked for a outcome considering I hit a tree. And on a positive note, ordered fiberglass fenders and 06 headlights.:biggrin1:

Man, sorry to hear that, luckily you had that bumper to absorbed most of the impact.
