What did you do with your 4runner today?

I was just answering your question on what UCA's they were. Never tried them. Wouldn't mind trying them if I had a need/desire to go taller. Looks like the ball joints would be easy to service.

I was pulling wiring from two old lights yesterday, so I was playing with the battery a bit.

Got in the car today and none of the windows were working. Had a massive panic attack as I was hitting each switch and figured I had cut the wrong wire or something. Then I pressed the window unlock button..... :frusty:

No the previous owner was. Bought in 2013 with 43k, so they were averaging maybe 5k a year. I only have a 2.5 mile commute so that does help, but my truck is our road trip vehicle so that's really whats bringing my mileage closer to 10k a year.

Almost done with the new grill. It was exciting at first....until day 5 came and the frustration kicked in while trying to make it fit...a coat of black paint is next

Driving from Chicago to seattle. Made it from Chicago to the badlands south Dakota in one day with enough time to drive around and actually see the park.

Today we spent a little more time in the badlands and then drove to Mt rushmore and the black Hills before heading through bighorn national forest to cody wyoming for the night.

Truck is running great. Gas mileage was solid until I hit the south Dakota 80mph speed limits and the mountains.

Changed it up a little tonight... swapped two 4" lights for one 32" light and had to trim the grille a little but I think it turned out pretty good. Will see in the morning when there's more light! And the bar is super bright, even with the plate covering some of it. I don't like front plates but I've been stopped a few times in the past so I keep one up front now because I don't like getting pulled over.

did some more work on my light mount after work. drilled the two center holes for my light mount extension

drilled and test fit. mounting the center lights tomorrow to see where the two outer light go then trim the ends

Do you have any pics of how you mounted this? I want to do this exact mod, and fortunately in my state there is no front license plate! :thumb:

I ended up building my own frame from angle iron and flat stock I got from work and used stainless steel mesh from a friend.

The bottom piece is angle iron with a tab welded to it to bolt the hood latch to.

The rest is flat stock. The frame and screen are bolted together and connect to 6 of the original bolt locations. I had to make plates for the side bolts to reinforce the mounting points. I'm still in the process of making some nice aluminium spacers to replace the stack of washers that are there now. I also need to fix the hood latch mechanism since the hood closed on it and crushed it while I was trying to line up the bolts holes.
