i was lucky that the lady that had it before me mainly did highway miles. has no rust and looks like it had never been offroad before me :becky:

i never see younger people driving 4th gen's near me. only thing i ever see with a lift is 2nd and 3rd gens

all this talk about rust makes me happy i dont really have any

Unfortunately i have surface rust. But I live in the south i.e. no snow and no road salt. All I have to do is find a spare weekend to get underneath and wire brush and paint. Shouldn't take too long though being that its all surface. Apparently the people who had it before me were from the coast in Mass. and used it to tow around boats and what not at the marina they owned.

Yep. I'm 17 and this is already my second Toyota. First was a hand me down 05 Highlander from my parents. Sold that as soon as a found a deal on a 4Runner.

This is my third Toyota. I got my dad's '05 RAV4 at 17 that he bought new. Had 116,000 when I got it. Drove it for a year and it went to my sister with 129,000 miles when I was 18. I bought my '03 4Runner at 77,800, drove that for a year and it got totaled at 93,000. Now I have my '06, bought it at 19 in August at 109,500 (felt much healthier than the '03) and now it sits at 115,800. I definitely don't plan on straying from Toyota.

Yeah my whole family was all toyota for years. up until i inherited my highlander with 80,000 on it. My dad went an bought an F-150 which has a nice interior but I'm not a fan of driving it. My mom like a week later bought a Hyundai Genesis Sedan. And let me say. That car is sweet. But I can say I'll stick with a Toyota besides my dream for a Scion FR-S (future daily driver when my 4th gen becomes offroad only). My 4th gen had like 93k on it when I bought it in August and is now only up to like 94.5K. (I live on and island everything is close)

My Uncle worked at a Toyota Dealership in Georgia and I test drove one about a week before they were up for sale. That thing is crazy. Had my dad buying it until he decided he wanted another truck.

Definitely a very nice car. The general consensus seems to be that the Toyota version has the better suspension and engine over the Subaru version which has more cosmetic accessories (spoiler, HIDs, leather, etc.) I'll take the better engine and cornering ability over bells and whistles any day!

It's harder to mod the suspension and engine than it is to do a retrofit and buy some seat covers. I also don't really like the way the front end of the BRZ looks compared to the FR-S

I hope my frame doesn't rot out! I'll prep and clean with mineral spirits to evaporate all the water. If its clean, it won't rust out. Problem solved

I need UCA's badly. I took her up to 90 today and it's the squirreliest ride ever! So scary.
