Good question, I bought my 03 4Runner sport back in 05 when I was 23, but all I ever see is soccer moms driving 4Runners around here, and me in my 08 :roadkill:

I can see that haha. But I've already done about 2 coats on the rear (worst part) and I'm in South Carolina where it doesn't snow. for example it was mid 50's today. So once i finish that up i shouldn't have anymore rust issues.

It's harder to mod the suspension and engine than it is to do a retrofit and buy some seat covers. I also don't really like the way the front end of the BRZ looks compared to the FR-S

I want to see what the convertible version of this looks like. A 2+2 convertible for Scion kind of money with Japanese reliability. I'd have to seriously consider that.

Back on-topic, what did I do with my 4Runner today? I woke up to find out that my wife drove it to work today in the snow. It had better come back in one piece. I paid her back by doing power-slides in her 328xi while running an errand.

Installed the rest of my exhaust today after work finally. Sorry the pics are so huge.

They are a huge pain in the ass to install. I had 3 guys helping me put on my long tubes. When it comes time to remove them to get it smogged, I honestly don't think I'll be putting them back on. Power is great though.

I had shorties originally, but my friends told me to sell them and go with long tubes. At the end of the install, they were all cursing me.

How do you like the shorties?

I got alot of low end power from the combo thats for sure. I had to open up the Runner to feel the power gain from the intake and flowmaster. With the high flows and shorts I didnt need to. It gets to the speed limits quickly now when i drive normal and dont floor it. Yea, so far i love them!

Did the sound change at all for you? What's next on the list for you to do?

Sound? yes and no. Idle it didnt change. While driving I can tell the runner has more power because the engine isnt trying as hard to get up too speed. Therefore the exhaust sound is lower while driving until i open it up. I cant wait to see what happens to my mpg after this.

Next? I get to finish fighting Toyota's resistance to aftermarket sound systems. lol speaker adapters are being shipped to me along with a few other goodies. :)

I doubt they're actively targeting you as their main opponent. That said, what are you going with for HU and speakers? I punched buttons on the newest Pioneer (5500BTU or something) at Car Toys the other day and liked it a lot. I may pull the trigger on that & see how it sounds before looking into speakers & amps.

haha I know its not just me. i only said that because so far i had to order extra parts to install my audio equipment. Dash kit for my HU because it wasnt sold in stores and the same for these speaker adapters. JVC head unit and kicker 6x9s. idk about the back speakers yet and another tech told me i prolly wont find better tweeters. Toyota really does make great tweeters.
