I did the spare to see what it would look like. it was kind of a test for the other wheels. I do like it, so I am going to paint the rest of the wheels this weekend.

I know there has been some extensive debate about this... My opinion is that it cant hurt, and anything that "might" help when wheeling 5 hours from home is a good thing. I am undecided, but I knew I had the kit somewhere and needed to find it. Also thinking of doing a long travel set of cv boots this winter. Wifey and I generally camp/wheel alone, so preventive is how I roll

I have seen you around, maybe once a week on Valleydale Road.. Been in the checkout line at Walgreen's with you as well.

There is another guy down the street from me in Wine Ridge that has the same 4Runner but he painted his hood black. Not sure if he is a member here. See ya around!

LMAO!!......I work out of my house, so whenever i am out of the house i am usually running as many errand as possible, so i am sure i was on a mission. I knew i had seen you around as well. I have seen the other guy as well. I just saw him yesterday. You should get him to get on the site.

I washed the T4R yesterday for the first time in . . .well, too long. It's disappointing to see how much abuse the paint has taken from my mall-crawling, co-workers, and freeway rocks & chips. I should probably quit tailgating, but man - I've got a V8 and if you're trying to go uphill in your tiny HyunKia in the 75MPH fast lane, yes I will ride your ass. However, most of the major dings have been at work. I hate my co-workers - well just the ones with no regard for personal property (which is most of them). Additionally I can't believe the condition the rims are in. I don't think I can justify $900 for new rims, but man they look terrible.
I went to go clean the paint with a clay bar alternative called Nanoskin Autoscrub and realized that I don't have a velcro backing pad for my Porter Cable orbital sander. So I guess I'll just park the 4Runner in the garage until the backing pad arrives.

Thankfully FedEx comes in the morning - so I got my velcro backing plate for my Porter Cable orbital. I used the Nanoskin Autoscrub over the whole truck, including the glass. Fantastic results. The entire surface is now smooth as glass. It's so much quicker than clay-bar, although I still had to use some around the mirrors and tailgate. I'm also quite pleased with the Nanoskin Glide as a detail spray/lubricant. It's better than the Optimum that I was using. Next, I have some Menzerna FG 400 - Fast Gloss Compound and Menzerna SF 4000 aka Super Finish that I need to figure out how to use.
I also slapped some RainX on the windshield.
