What did you do with your 4runner today?

I use spring compressors to fit my rear springs in.

Also, I'd try using a compressor on your coilovers to try to relieve pressure on the piece you have to turn. That might help you crank em up!

i had to use spring compressors too, it sucked.

yeah, would definitely help. if you dont have a ratchet strap works too
i dont get it though, Are you guys running 5" springs or something? with my FJ coils + daystar spacer I had easily two inches of play above it using the method i mentioned before

I plan on 3.5" plus 1.5" spacers.... Haha

I have toytec springs with 1.5 on driver side. I had to unhook me sway bar then i had a small bit of room to mess with.

I had my brother come out and stand on the tire while i jacked up the passenger side with sway bar off. Still used a pry bar to get the bottom over the perch.

yeah, i disconnect the panhard, shocks, sway all that crap and then had a ton of room when flexing the axle :noidea:

Yeah... The LT coils are really long, but still only give about 2" of lift. That's why I put the spacers on top. I'm hoping that the combination will give me major flex AND a good ride height. :D

I definitely should have taken pictures while I was doing it because it was so ridiculous. If anyone else ever does this, PLEASE use a spring compressor... That is a great idea! I seriously had everything disconnected and a jack under the passenger side. I also had the bottle jack pushing down on the driver side of the axle from the frame rail. I had the axle flexed so far down that the passenger shock only had about an inch more of up travel, and the driver side upper control arm was pressed against the gas tank. The axle had to flex so much that it started going under the gas tank a little bit, and then the gas tank skid was in the way of the coil seating. I get to try it out this weekend at Dishpan Springs, so I'll post some pictures of how it flexes out :D

At least I know my coils will never unseat....

Wait wait woah woah wait!!! Your shocks were still connected!? THERE is your problem!

No... The shocks were disconnected, but I just had the passenger side sitting in the bucket. I suppose I could have removed the bumpstop and cranked the passenger side up to the frame rail, but the higher I pushed the passenger side, the more it twisted.

Really though, I think it was just the overall length of the coils. The stock coils are 14 1/4" tall and I was trying to cram in an almost 21" coil into the spot. Do you know how long the fj coils are for comparison?

Ohh ok! Makes sense. I don't know why you had THAT much of an issue though. Usually it droops enough.

FJ springs are basically 15" I think... They're 3/4" taller ride height than stock 4R springs.

Tire lights now blinking instead of just coming on every 5 days or so. That right front tire has been dropping mad air pressure. No visable punctures of any kind. seems to be a little too much air lose to blame it on 30 degree night and morning temps  guess i'll be stoping by yota later to hook the scanner up.

Sounds like a leaking TPMS stem

Sounds right to me too. I never had one leak myself but have heard of it happening on some other forums.

Yeah thats what i'm thinking. when I 1st bought it, the left rear was loosing air pressure and we found it to be a dry rotted rubber gromet in the TPMS sensor. doubt i'll get lucky enough for it to be such a cheap and easy fix this time.

Ordered an H11 35w HiD kit from TRS, can't wait for the install and alot more low beam light !! Gonna come in handy now that the days are shorter and the ski trips longer :)

After last weekend lower Fordyce run and giving the suspension a serious work out, got underneath and noticed the lower ball joint push some grease out.

Got underneath and debolted the lower control arm and popped off the ball joint. Removed the boot and it still had grease in it, but, since it was off added some more.

dont you have to press in the LBJ again?

Nope. Just have to put the lower control arm bracket back on and the nut, hit it with a impact to suck it in, align the hole for the cotter pin.
