What did you do with your 4runner today?

interesting, i thought they were pressed in :noidea: I may do this too,one of mine is leaking a bit

The hard part is, you need the ball joint remover ( not to damage the boot cover) to get them out/separate.

It the same type of procedure as the top.

I have less of a problem being in the central valley, no road salt, ect. to rust up and corrode everything together.

the tops are def. pressed in... i think were thinking of doing diff. things.
I have a pitman arm puller, makes easy work of UBJ

The bolt to hold the ball joint on is only like 45lbs torque to hold them on, and you have to align the cotter pin hole.

The impact sucks it in quickly so the stud of the BJ doesn't spin on you, but, if you don't have the impact, I could see the purpose of having to press them in.

ill have to look at the LBJ when I get home. that stud you're talking about - im thinking of the other side of it is pressed into the UCA or LCA, no? as in, you cant just unbolt the whole balljoint and swap it, unless you press it in

Light bar

I installed this light bar on Friday before the trip.

Yeah, sounds like you guys are talking about 2 different things. I think having fun is referring to separating the LBJ from the spindle (bolted) and Zak, you're talking about disassembly it from the LCA (pressed)

Correct. The other side is locked in with a snap ring. The boot side is just the bolt.

After the BJ is separated, the boot is exposed, and just have to remove the ring to remove the boot for greasing.

Tire lights now blinking instead of just coming on every 5 days or so. That right front tire has been dropping mad air pressure. No visable punctures of any kind. seems to be a little too much air lose to blame it on 30 degree night and morning temps  guess i'll be stoping by yota later to hook the scanner up.

Had to reinitialize the TPMS sensors. Problem solved! Also changed the air filter and flushed the power steering fluid. All at no charge, Love my friends here at Toyota lol

Made it home from Houston safe and sound. Got to the parking lot and my truck eagerly unlocked and fired up, as I knew it would!

Only thing I noticed was that it seems to have forgotten the shift points it had before. This is actually a good thing because it used to hold gears like crazy before from when I was feathering the gas to keep it from downshifting. It kinda drives like new now!

im tired of paying on mine, its almost done. I want something new badly but i cant get used to wanting to pay for longer.

I'm sure Body Armour(Among other goodies) will help alleviate that tension for wanting to buy a new Rig, real quick! :tongue1:

itll just put more money into it that it doesnt need. I added all my mods to my aCar app. That was depressing. I do have an offer on the table for it, not sure i want to take it though.
