What did you do with your 4runner today?

Yeah, I've read a lot of accounts where folks have felt the valving on Fox's are too stiff, at least for our application. I'd have to concur. Running a lower pressure charge is an easy means of "tuning" the ride. I believe between 150-200 psi is around normal. The guy that rebuilt mine said he always only puts 100 psi when he does shocks. I was gonna ask for 175 psi, but I trust him. He builds custom buggies. So far they've been fine. Actually still pretty stiff. It's better without my sway bar.

I agree, i've heard the same thing. My friend works at Poly Performance and said next time i go down he wants to bring some new valves and test/tune out in Pismo. But i've heard the same thing. Its a nice balance so far between my Walker Evans up front and Fox's in the rear. Although sometimes i feel the WE Coilovers are a bit too soft but i need to adjust them as well. I think the spring itself is too soft. Need a higher rate. Especially with the v8.

Are you running no rear sway?

I've still got the rear on at the moment. My buddy Bobby (@Darklight) has been rolling without his for a while now as the Guinea pig. Truck rides nice and he gets a ridiculous amount of articulation in the rear. I think he can get away with it though because he's running 700# coils up front, 3" prototype OW rear coils and stiff Icon VS rear shocks.

I'm on the fence. I've been kicking around some rear end link design options. One day I'll get to messing with it. I've been nursing a broken arm since mid Dec and won't get my cast off till early next month so parts and ideas are starting to pyle up.

Sucks man, feel better. I broke my hand in September and it was awful.

I'm tossing around the idea of ditching my rear sway too since some bolts sheared and it's a pain. I'm just worried about ripping out a shock since they will be limiting my articulation

I got my rebuild kit from Poly Performance. Those guys were awesome to work with.

What rate springs do you have up front? I think mine are only 600# with a V8, but the stiff valving makes up for the light coils. I've thought about stepping up to heavier coils myself just to lesson the preload on mine but aren't willing to do so at the cost of a harsher ride. Your fronts are 2.5" or 2.0" (forgive me for not looking). Getting your custom valved will be the way to go. Might be a little PITA but worth it in the end.

Thanks man. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have a six month old at home. That's been the roughest part of it all.

What to you mean some bolts sheared? The axle mount bolts? Yeah I feel you on the shock damage. Guess you're gonna have to limit your Dukes of Hazzards antics. Seriously though, you could always just add some limit straps if you're concerned about that.

That's such a pain though. I sheared off the bolts on the bottom of the axle mount brackets bilaterally. I'm gonna take an air hammer to the welded nuts on the back and see if I can get them off and use a standard nut/bolt. If not, bye bye sway bar...

I believe mine are 550 or 600 springs but i could be wrong. I have a good preload on them and they finally maintain height. They're 2.0s but i have adjustable resi for soft/stiff ride. I have it fully soft right now and it floats over everything even with mad preload.

Holy pre-load, them hoes are cranked!! When I installed mine, I was able to get 3" of lift with only about 9/16" of thread showing. After my bumper and shock rebuild I cranked them up to 1". I've got about 4" of suspension and 1" body lift (5" total).

Hell with that adjuster it should ride however you want it no? Those are nice.

I drove my sister to work this morning then came home and gave him the royal treatment. He got cleaned inside and out! Windexed the windows inside and out as well, even the sunroof. Fixing to go pick my sister up and then off to Walmart we go

haha RIGHT?! its hard to believe these were on a Tacoma and were preset at 3" when he shipped them to me! I had to crank at least a few threads to get to my height im at now. At least they ride super soft and have low miles on them. I cant complain for $500

duralast ones from autozone, hey if they break atleast i've got a lifetime warranty

F***ing THIS^^^^^^^^^

I got duralast rotors after warping 3 sets and the lifetime warranty is incredible! I also got their calipers and I walk in with a seized one and out with a brand new one in 5 minutes. Pain free and awesome!

I got duralast tie rods too. Just gotta install them.

swapped out my reaar shocks [fctory 125k miles ] replaced with blisteins 5100, observed about 1.5 to 2inch diff in lenght btw the shocks prior to instaall, the blisteins were taller
