Love the generals on my Tacoma, but I wanted to try something different with the runner and I'm sold on the duratracs now too. Not sure what my next tire is going to be.

It's definitely fixable, but it messed up a bunch of stuff. Bumper is obviously toast, grill and hood as well. Both headlights broken, front subframe crushed, fog light broken, radiator support is crushed/warped, radiator has a hole in it I think and it's messed up (I can jiggle it around with my hand), driver side fender flare broken, and driver side fender is smushed backward up into the door. And this is just all the stuff I can see. It made some funny noises when I left school today :sobbing:

Last weekend was time to do the 30k duties, differential fluids, drain n fill trans, grease anything I could, lubed uni balls.
Today got to finish the rest... Change plugs, cleaned MAF, cleaned throttle body n inner air duct, replace front brake pads, flushed power steering fluid.

I just want to preface in regards to your comment the only tire that is going to accel on ice is going to be a designated ice tire or studded tire. Moving on
My BFG's just seemed to not have the traction in rainy or snowy conditions after awhile(maybe10-15k miles) and my traction control was more likely to kick in from tire spin. To clarify this was just simple city driving and nothing harsh or spinning tires on purpose(read: leaving a 4 way stop) it was common for my traction control to kick in due to poor traction. I also noticed when passing on 2 lane highways and would have to cross the median it was common for them to COMPLETELY break traction due to a bit of snow buildup between oncoming lanes and it could get to be a little nerve wrecking. I just learned to adjust accordingly, but once it started happening in just rain is where I drew the line so with 45k miles and 6-7/32nds left on the tires I did switch them out is all. Are they doable, yes. Would I want them in an Alaskan winter...maybe not? Maybe invest in some Tredz or Maxtraxx in the mean time.
And jealous of the move, may I ask what you are going to be doing up in Alaska?
I mean not HORRIBLE, but they definitely do take some adjustment. I mean they are better than a street tire, but for and A/T....daily driving especially where there is inclement weather and 4 seasons not fun.
I am by no means brand loyal and have heard mixed reviews on the Duratracs. Great tire, but can be a pain to balance or even last past 20k. That is what is great about the tire game, there are plenty of options to try/learn/adjust and then pick from there. There are a bunch of options and some people have preference and some people have personal experience. Case in point Nitto's are complete and utter trash and get by on name and are a horrible tire if you ever plan to drive over anything that isn't a freshly paved roadway. What kind of Taco do you have?

I second that. I had some on my old chevy and while they did alright offroad they were absolute crap on snow, ice, and in the rain

Like I said in another thread I haven't had any issues with the Duratracs balancing or wearing uneven. I've got about 16k on them now, so I'll see what happens in the next 4. They are due for a rotation which I'm doing this weekend.
The Tacoma is a Prerunner TRD Offroad w/ the locking diff. I bought the AT2s initially for fire road, towing, sidewall capability and on road rain because at the time I had my motorcycle for daily commuting. I have about 14k on my Generals and they still look brand new, but they are E rated so they're super stiff and pretty stiff on road. Even with the light weight rear end, in the rain they've been awesome, but I never had them in the snow.

I haven't been on the site for a while but did the raptor mod last week after seeing a taco on instagram. Looks like it has made it here as well haha.
I also finally repaired my dented tailgate. Love the look of the black at the base of the gate. Saved me lots of $ to do it this way.

That rear bumper actually looks really great. I was hit while parked a few months back and insurance word the repairs at $500 which was my deductible so I left it as is. I can replace the bumper cover myself for $200 unpainted.
I would be curious to see how it would look with a black bed liner finish on my galactic gray 4runner. The black looks really good on the silver, just not sure about how it would look on mine.
Dammit I also need to get going on my lift, new wheels and tires.

Billstein 5100 3" toytec lift and spidertrax spacers. Love the ride!! Took two and half hours total. Well worth the $1100.

Looks fantastic. I'm planning on doing something similar when I add my satoshi grille, likely do it with the lower grille instead.
Curious, you are now over OEM wattage on the driving lights, anticipate any problems with that?

All the driving lights in the truck are now LED so overall probably pull the same or less current overall. At least that's what I hope hahaha

I just did the '06 headlight conversion and wired the '06 turn signal as another marker light. Running 2 LED vs. 1 halogen, I calculate myself as 2w over stock. Maybe I should replace stock tail lights with LEDs to lower wattage. The bulbs I want to use for the lower grill would be apox 10w to create a nice glow down there.
Aiming for something like this except just the lower grille (or maybe behind the Satochii lettering?) With just the parking/marker lights on and the grill it should look amazing. (assuming it an accent and not overwhelming)

Battery shit the bed, First it happened the night of the snow storm last weekend. I thought i left my lights on when i used my remote starter. Now today when i went to go get it out of the garage click,click,click:redbrick: Off to sears we go..
