Just purchased a 2008 Shadow Mica T4R! All of the accents (grille, rear hatch trim and door handles) are chrome. Can I purchase color match from somewhere?

Yes, from a Toyota dealer or a salvage yard, you would want to order or find the parts you seek for/from a Limited model which has those parts color matched to the paint, any year from 2006 to 2009 would fit your 2008.

Also a possibility - take a look at them and make sure the dealer/last owner didn't just put chrome coverings on them. That was the case on mine.

I peeled off the covers, got the adhesive off, and it was good as new!

Ya never know! Pretty sure mine was put on by the dealer to 'bling it up'. It's pretty convincing, but just look really closely at the edges to see if you can see a lip on it.

3M Di-noc carbon fiber

Hi guys, I've been subscribed for a while but haven't really posted much. I recently started working on my 4Runner again and I was working w/ 3M Di-Noc and although it does have a learning curve, it came out pretty decent.

Just wanted to share it with you guys.

Just need a heat gun, film (a bit expensive - $24 per 1'x4' roll; i used 2 rolls) and a lot of patience.

Yes it was. There were a couple sacrificial pieces in the beginning but the learning curve wasn't all that bad. Once you understand that heat makes the biggest difference, it start to become easier. I've heard that 1080 is easier to use than Di-Noc so I might try that too.

I did what most 4th gen guys do......replaced my front calipers! Napa reman "eclipse" or whatever that means, centric rotors, hawk HPS pads. To top off the experience, I got to bend new steel brake lines. It was an all around productive day and now I'm no longer in fear of rear-ending everyone

Got nice n busy today.....

Added a Hayden 699 transmission cooler because my fluid temps were getting a lot higher than I'd like thanks to the new tires. Close to 200 degree trans fluid in town in 20 degree weather is not might idea of a good time...It sat around 170 on back roads, but would spike to 190 pretty quickly going up hills.

ALSO, I finally took the leap and blacked out my turn signals and fog lights! Couldn't find much info on here about doing it, so baked em open and figured out what could/couldn't be painted inside. I think they came out pretty well!

So far this weekend, I have installed a new Android head unit (ATOTO A6Y), replaced the JBL sub with the 8" Pioneer one, replaced the power steering hose from the reservoir to the pump and changed out the gear oil in the rear diff. Didn't have enough on hand to do the tcase and front diff.

Still trying to determine what trim piece I'm missing for the stereo install since there are gaps around the edges and from pics other people have posted here, there should be some sort of trim for that.

Pioneer sub hidden behind the stock grill.

OEM hose from the reservoir to the pump and new constant tension clamps. The old hoses were so brittle I was able to snap them in half by hand.

I just replaced the factory subwoofer with the Pioneer TS-SW2002D2. Pretty easy to do if you follow this thread

Just a head's up I tried ordering new oem color matched door handles for my blue runner and was told by 2 parts departments (including olathe) no Toyota distribution warehouse in the US had them and they would likely not come back in stock. I'm hopeful you'll have better luck with your color. I'm probably just going to try black plasti dip and see how it turns out. :/

scored a set of wheels over the weekend, waiting on new lug nuts, surprised the original guy used stock nuts and that didnt even bite much, also need to chage the tires as one pair is from 2011 and another at 2015. should be ok to drive to tire shop.

The smaller return line is 3/8" fuel injection hose. You can't buy just the return line hose, they only sell the whole hard line with rubber hose, dumb.

The hose between the reservoir and pump is a new OEM, along with the tension clamps. I got them from McGeorge Toyota online.
