What did you do with your 4runner today?

Replaced the relay on my wiper switch. Works great, but unfortunately the relay I bought is very clicky. I will see if I can stand it. Easy fix for only $9.

If you don't want a clicky one don't get the Panasonic JJM1-12V which was recommended as a replacement for the relay on the switch (now obsolete). There are probably others with a similar form factor.

Replaced lower control arm bushings and ball joints

I had replaced the upper control arms with new ball joints and bushings, and took it to get aligned. Alignment shop said lower control arm bushings were shot, so got new ones, new ball joints. Took the LCA’s off, took them to the local machine shop and had them press the old ones out and the new ones in. Put it all back together and got it re-aligned.

Front end completely rebuilt now!

Installed new CBI rear bumper with single swingout, prinsu roof rack, and a couple of single row LED lightbars

Installed a swaybar relocate kit today. It lowered the bar and moved it forward about an inch, giving better clearance to the shocks.

Now that it's finally warming up here in Wisco been trying to keep busy the last couple weekends. Started with an oil change with some good ol' Redline 5w30. Sprayed the radiator support and some other misc spots with Rust Reformer and some flat black Rustoleum. Replaced the SR5 4WD badge on the doors with TRD ones from Kempter. Threw on a Victory 4x4 front skid plate and Apex Overland recovery points while I was at it. Hoping to have time soon to finally throw on the Daystar lift, body mount chop plates, and the rear diff breather extension that have been sitting on my workbench most of the winter. Next on the list to order is the Bud Built hidden winch mount and right now thinking Milestar Patagonias 285/70/17s and some Spidertrax wheel spacers.

I did the Fluid Film inside of the frame today.
I bought the "wand" which made it so much easier, one can did the frame

I folded down the rear seats and threw some moving blankets in the back. Went to the lumber yard and picked up 8, 8 foot 2"x8"s. I was a little cramped driving home, but it worked.

Replaced the driver side rear door lock actuator. Did a write-up as well. Very nice to have the auto locks functioning now.

social distancing activities

Done within 2 weeks are the following:
Front Diff fluid change,
Read Diff fluid change,
transaxle fluid change, and grease all zerk fittings on the driveshaft.
Coolant flush, front sway bar bushing and links changed (rear is next, bought incorrect part)
new front rotors and pads,
and spark plugs changed.

More social distancing activities here....Gear Oil Change in front differential, transfer case, and rear differential. Super simple except for shearing off one of the skid plate bolts. Got it drilled out, tapped, and new M8x1.25 bolts installed in all 4 positions.
Installed new front speakers...hopefully will install rear speakers tomorrow (if new brackets arriving tomorrow work). Next will be a new HU to replace the stock unit.

Last week it was new Ironman Foamcell 3” suspension front and rear.

This week, 2008 headlight upgrade, did a restoration on them which came out great.

Lastly, and most unexpectedly, a Gobi ladder for the rear. Yes i know it’s for the spoiler version, but came available on the secondary market and doesn’t bother me.
