Anybody running aftermarket lower link arms? Which brand and why? I am looking at the Opt offroad lower link arms for the 4th gen 4runners.

I’m running Dobinsons adjustable lowers. They’re bent at the rear to allow more clearance. They have a small built in skid for the adjuster. They use stock style rubber bushings but come with poly bushings that can be swapped in. They’re super beefy. Price and availability was great compared to others when I was looking to purchase. There are a lot out there, this is just what I went with. I like the Metal Cloak ones too.

Honestly, it was a very straightforward removal and install. Didn't have to take apart the dash, all 4 nuts holding the MC to the firewall were accessible with a deep socket, swivel, and long extension. All 4 brake fittings broke free easily and the flares looked good. I did unbolt/unclip all 4 brake lines so there was less tension on them and I could easily push them out of the way. I enlisted the help of my teenagers to bleed the brakes the old school way, then again with TIS, and showed them how to do a ZPC via TIS on my really old laptop. I was really dreading this repair but it went smoothly. Total time spent was about 4 hours. I have R&R'd several MC's on other vehicles over the years and this was one of the easier ones.

$1164 before tax and shipping from Sparks Parts. It was the cheapest that I found. My local dealerships were $1600+ for the same thing. Wherever you purchase one from, make sure to request extra packaging so it doesn't get damaged in shipping!

Cracked open the transfer case today and got the TC actuator out. Looks like one of the motors inside actuator had seized. Not sure why hitting it with a dead blow didn't work but hopefully the new one fixes everything. Wish me luck lol

But I'm thinking you could of got the old one working but the dead blow just wasn't a big enough hammer!!

Black Friday is the day after thanksgiving. So only like two months. Not a bad wait unless one or both is totally effed haha

B-Pillar Blackout
I got the B-Pillars painted and reinstalled today. Not too difficult to remove but the bottom trim needs to also be removed to access the bolts for the handle and upper trim.
Prepping some parts for my suspension lift I'm hoping to install next week. I have forged aluminum upper control arms I put some matte clear coat on to help protect the finish of. Should be a pretty big update once installed!
