So i see a LOT of people mention they used run of the mill, get at any hardware store silicone sealant for roof racks..
I also saw a nightmare of a thread where the guys roof was just rotting away from rust.
So what do y'all think about a more stable product like polyurethane? like what is used for windshields, something like this: Amazon.com: 3M 08609 Window-Weld Super Fast Urethane Black Cartridge - 10.5 fl oz. : Automotive
I see people using butyl tape also, and while may be less of a mess. is kind of an older method to the above.
I should have my roof rack this weekend. So wanted to try and be prepared, but ive never installed a rack before, and after reading all the threads about leaks. has me nervous to say the least. lol.
