Most of the guys who say .380 is too small and they would never carry anything less than a full size 1911 are often without a gun (in real life because they always carrying on the internet). Rock what works and what you'll carry consistently!

Id protect my family members life or my own with a 380 anyday over nothing at all.

Great pistol and Smith has an amazing line of Glock's. They made them better ergonomically, magazine, trigger, and made here. The shield is a pistol if using a holster but not a good pocket pistol. Put a real safety and it is almost a great pistol.

I love the Shield (esp without a safety), but I'm not a real big dude, and it's heavy so I don't carry it as often as I should.

I agree though, I have a good friend with a couple Glocks, and I was still happy with my choice after shooting his guns.

I intended to carry this in an OWB holster for the winter....but I didn't.

Maybe next winter, lol.

Get one of the Taurus TCP or Ruger LCP's. I have both....the Taurus I sent back for feed ramp polishing...they did it under warranty and feeds perfect now. The Ruger ran from the start. Just put it in your pants pocket....don't need a holster. I carry mine in my beach/summer shorts pocket. One of the best sized, controllable and accurate pistols in it's size.

They are even better than the 32 Beretta Tomcat.

Now, I have a Crimson Trace Laser on the Taurus....

Just me...I did the laser thing on several different platforms....sure they have a place....but I can have 3 on target rounds off before I can see the dot and fire one round. Waste of time looking for a bouncy tiny dot, and if gun needs actually fired time is not something in excess. IMO: Perfect for a scare defense tactic, and if you have a lot of time to study and control it. Iron sights...with only a white/yellow dot up front on my save my life handguns.

Great pistols for sure....noticeably larger in every dimension and weight than the TCP/LCP especially when carried. Loaded with 158SWC your looking at 18oz with the super thin wood grips. 5 rounds of more powerful ammo still pretty anemic. Either of the autos will weigh about 11-12 oz with 7 rounds of 80-90gr.

Go to the gun shop...throw one in your front pants pocket, jacket pocket, etc. Shoot them if you can. I think you might be surprised.

So far, I can actually shoot pretty accurately with the TCP just using muscle memory. Practice pocket draws are natural to activate the laser while taking up the trigger slack to be ready to fire. I DO need to dot the front blade.....

I carry a little Walther PPS M2. I had the M1 and I loved the design and feel. I got the M2 and I hated it for a solid month. I love it now, and have parted ways with the M1.
